Sasuke gets hit with a V1 Lariat and that round is over.
He was moaning in Pain and his chest was nowhere to be found.

Kisame gets hit with a V1 Lariat and that round is over.
Kisame's a man so he wasn't crying like Sasuke, but his chest was gone.

At that point it was really Kisame, not a Zetsu yet.

OT: It was plot. Nagato's arms were burned off in seconds by the same Amaterasu that failed to burn through clothes in other instances.
