Nagato adopted Yahiko's will of pain being the only way for one to understand each other he was coaxed into believing that "Madara" would gather all the tailed beast to create a tailed beast weapon and that will cause other coincides to fight it for war and when people understand pain it will bring momentary peace.

I feel Obito, under the guise of Madara, will lie to Yahiko and thus will change Nagato. After Yahiko's death he will see Obito and ask him about his plan. And that's after he's converted to the 6 Paths Of Pain.

Nagato didn't intend to use the tailed beasts for Obito and Madara's purpose, he said he wanted to make a weapon out of them that can blow up countries and share their pain or something along those lines, very similar to what Yahiko said this chapter. It looked like he planned on betray Obito as he and Konan studied his Kaumi and came up with a counter. He only had one thing to do with Madara's rinnengan and that was to revive Madara he didn't even do that. He just took his eyes, i'm not seeing how he was used.

I wouldn't say he was used, he co-operated with Obito at the time, but his intentions were not the same. Nagato wanted to use the tailed beasts as a weapon in which to start a war that would cause great Pain to everyone, the same pain he endured in hopes that people would understand and sympathize with him.

He was always more powerful than Obito, so it wasn't just about going along with everything Obito was saying, he was doing it for his own reasons as well.
