It's not like he can cast Soul Rip through any point of his body, he needs to physical grab the enemy's soul. He can't do that if he can't see the enemy due to the Clam's Mirage or Mu's Invis.
Nagato can also utilize his rain no jutsu to track them.
Rain Jutsu doesn't track peoples exact locations, just lets Nagato know that there is alien chakra within the rain. This is why Konan was necessary to find Jiraiya's exact location

Jinton atomizes whatever it touches, where are CT's feats of tanking something like that? So you don't necessarily need the same raw, power, you just need something that can destroy the core, which Jinton offers through it's innate atomizing ability. And to add insult to injury there is also Black Lighting, Joki Boi, and Gold Sand attack on top of that. And honestly i'm not sure the combos of these techniques aren't equivalent to those 3 Jutsu combo'd. Magatama is really not that impressive destructive power wise, so that is at best equal to what the Kazekage can cook up w/ Gold Dust. FRS is good, but I wouldn't say it's better than Joki Boi + Black Lighting. And Mu's max Jinton should offer at least as much destructive potential as one of Hachibi's casual Bijuu Bombs. So yeah.
