Nagato vs Itachi

Itachi would defeat Naruto and Bee if they fought as foolishly as they did against Nagato.

And Nagato would not have "raped" them if Naruto used clones or if Bee was in beast mode.

That is true. But we have no other basis to scale them by. My thoughts:

Ninjutsu

Nagato lacks the reflexes to reflect the Totsuka. Itachi countering Chibaku Tensei is unknown.


Genjutsu

Itachi has very hyped genjutsu and didn't even use it. Nagato countering Tsukuyomi is unknown.


Taijutsu

Itachi is far more skilled with weapons, etc. (taking out multiple summons) than Nagato.


Speed

Itachi is one of the fastest and most evasive characters. Nagato is one of the most immobile.

Intelligence

Itachi is smarter. He figured out all of Nagato's techniques nearly instantly.


Conclusion

Itachi would invariably trick Nagato with clones, speed, genjutsu, etc. and finish with the Mangekyō.

Ninjutsu
you're kidding, again, itachi won't stab nagato if it wasn't for the help of the two jinchuuriki. we saw how itachi countered CT, don't be blinded by your love of itachi. accept what manga shows you.

Genjutsu
exactly, he didn't use genjutsu and we all know itachi ALWAYS use genjutsu in his every fight.gives us a hint itachi might know it'll not work

again you lack knowledge. nagato is far more superior in taijutsu. he can sprout mechanical arms, even owns bee by catching him midair.

Speed
nagato maybe immobile but you did see how kabuto uses his techniques to compensate for it. btw, he can fly.

Intelligence
yeah itachi maybe smarter..but your just hyping it up. itachi got plenty of time figuring out how to takedown the summons. but yeah on the CT he was able to figure it out but just wasn't strong enough to destroy it himself.. just shows intelligence sometimes isn't enough.

Conclusion
with nagato having experience fighting naruto which has far more better clone technique than itachi's, I doubt he'll fall on the same tactics twice.

you haven't realize this but never in the manga kabuto tried attacking itachi and his hands where too busy capturing the two jinchuuriki that allows itachi to do his maneuvers. bottom line is, its kabuto's dumbness that causes nagato's defeat.

I agree with you here, actually. I vastly underestimated Nagato's potential in this category.

Summons are still magnitudes slower and less precise than shunshin, however.

bottom line is, its kabuto's dumbness that causes nagato's defeat.

But is Nagato smarter than Kabuto? That's rather debatable.

I'm basing my results off of the only fight those two had against each other, minus B and Naruto.

facts:

From the manga we cannot discern the effectiveness of genjutsu against the rinnegan.

We know that Susanoo is affected by CT, it was getting drawn in.

Nagato could absorb chakra directly from the body as well as projectiles.

Amaturatsu can be repelled by ST.

Itachi posesses an eternal genjutsu via sword thingy

speculations:

Nagato can seal the souls via human path and hell god thingy.

Nagato can see through his summons eyes.

Nagato can absorb all forms of chakra, he can absorb rasengan and directly from the body, so it's safe to asume all forms of chakra can be absorbed, including amaturatsu and susanoo.


taking these things into account I would say that nagato should easily win this one.

susano either gets absorbed or his attacks get repelled.
amaturatsu, same thing.
genjutsu's, may not work, since the rinnegan is a higher lv eye than the ms and even if they did seeing through the eyes of the summons would make it pretty easy to see that it is tsukiyomi or other genjutsu's being activated.

this already eliminates itachi's strongest movesets, everything else that he could possibly do is pretty basic ninja stuff.

this fight essentially boils down to one man, itachi, using his bare hands, a few tricks and a sealing sword to fight a guy, nagato, with the power to move objects with his mind, absorb energy and steal souls.

now, unless itachi can move like might or rock i don't see him winning against nagato in a solo match, hell i don't really even see him winning against nagato with the help of naruto and B.

from what i can tell in the manga nagato/kabuto completely ignored itachi and focused on naruto and B. then at the end, rather than using the ST to repel the sword he just stood there.

why do i think that? looks like he gained his mind back when there was still a cloud of dust and just took the sword knowing it was the only way to stop him. seeing as he was trying to help Naruto and b that whole time.

Stop being so biased, Nagato is clearly superior to Itatchi at Ninjutsu regardless of mobility, which only became an issue in a 3 on 1. Genjutsu goes to Itachi. Tai jutsu, would be stupid to go against Nagato, he could easily fend of Bee with assura path whilst pinning Naruto and absorbing his chakra, on top of that get touched by human path you're dead. Intelegence, yes Itachi is able to compete with Nagato due to his battle smarts and it wasn't instant when he figured out Nagato's techniques, he watched Naruto and Bee for most the chapter then jumped in. Speed I agree with.
