To be fair Itachi hand no clue what CT was nor did he know how it worked. Also if Totsuka does come in contact with the core it definitely reaches it.

He learned how it worked the moment he saw it start to gather rock. It's not that hard a jutsu to decipher and none of what you just typed out changes a thing I said. The core reaches far too high for him to be able to cut it with Totsuka. That's why he used Yasaka Magatama in canon. If Totsuka was capable of reaching he wouldn't have told them to use long range attacks.

when core is realesed there already are enought rocks to reach,he wont let it to get bigger... Itachi is fast with ET body... when he will be close enought for susaso to reach core, he will activate and cuts it... i never said that it will be easy and also said that it failes more time than not, but there is still a chance for me and unlike u i don't say it as a fact, we all have our own opinion and u can not change mine and i don't really care if u change urs... we can quote eachother till apocalypse,but nothing gonna change...
