I've seen that a lot of people assume that

'Rinnegan is superior to Sharingan,therefore it is immune to Sharingan genjutsu,Jiraiya's genjutsu doesn't actually work,proof?Asura path managed to attack him.Nagato wasn't in the genjutsu.

Bold part is something that needs to get work on.

Theory: Magen: Gamarinshō worked on Nagato

Conclusion
Nagato is overall stronger than Itachi but I do place them in the same Tier. Nagato is still vulnerable to genjutsu and Tsukuyomi. And even with CT Itachi has a good chance to seal him before getting trapped - double KO.

even though i doubt he can block the high level of genjutsu it wouldn't surprise me if genjutsu didn't work. Itatchis genjutsu is said to be the second best in the manga so if anone could do it it would probably be him.

Didn't I mentioned it earlier?The genjutsu worked on Nagato but it was accidentally cancelled,leaving Nagato the chance to attack through Asura.

Being an extremely experienced ninja,I believe Nagato can break only a lower rank genjutsu than Tsukuyomi.

Though Itachi had always settled his opponents down before they even realize that they're in genjutsu,the damage of his genjutsu has always been guaranteed.
