Nagato outsmarted/overpowered by Itachi

Naruto had to resort (involuntarily) to his Tailed-Beast in order to destroy Chibaku Tensei. Itachi only had to use Yasaka Magatama combined with B's and Naruto's jutsu. You never know the full capacity of Itachis' Yasaka Magatama because as stated in the wiki: "The size of the created projectiles are dependent upon the user's intent and situation, with smaller variations often used when fighting in close quarters or confined spaces." You don't know if Itachi only gave way for B and Naruto so he wouldn't fully steal the spotlight and credit. As we all know, Itachi always underrates himself.

They are both capable of killing each other. 5/10 for each with ten fights. Its argueable that nagato cant do anything against his genjutsu, amaturasu can do damage with his immobility if he doesnt protect himself in time and totsuka has been proven OP time and time again, not to mention he is argueably the best one on one fighter.

Nagato on the other hand is a power house who can level a village and CT can pose problems and can "possibly" survive a full power yasaka M from itachi. Nagato is indeed powerful and wont be over powered but matched in his power with a combination of power, mastery and skill. U shouldnt overrate neither and they both lack key components in their dojutsu. The two r indeed equal.

Itachi will beat Nagato. But I dont think genjutsu will be enough, as there will be a Path that will nullify that. Probably Naraka or Deva.

Itachi could defeat Nagato if he had the chakra, or had awakened the rennigan. at that moment.. nagato was weak... remember.. itachi was carrying nagato by putting his arm on his shoulder. besides.. itachi had naruto and bee to serve as distractions while he outsmartd nagato.. otherwise.. i dont think itachi stood a chance against nagato in his prime.

Even though i am a huge Itachi fan... 1 must speak the truth.

I think most get swayed to much by nagatos raw power, which is obvious that he has the advantage. But itachi is smarter. By far strategy wise. Deidara has power just as destructive in my opinion. If you wanted to say nagato>deidara I wouldn't argue with that. My point is that we've seen what raw power gets u in a fight against someone like itachi. I say itachi>nagato cuz of his genjutsu. I don't see nagato handling that well. IMO I think he'd be better off fighting with the 6paths. That way one could the other out of it. But with their shared vision I'm not sure if one gets caught they all get caught. In any event nagatos most powerful Justus are double edged swords, which require a bit of prep. And if they miss the interval between when he can use them again is to dangerous against someone like itachi. Jiraiya would have beaten pain with better intel. Nagato admitted this. On top of that tobi didn't even bother using these techniques cuz he knew strategies have already been developed by the leaf ninja to counter them. Their not unbeatable as everyone makes them out to be. And his mobility is a null point. It wouldn't matter. People conveniently forget that he did that to himself. A unfortunate side effect of using the gedo mazo during the fight with hanzo. You can't have it both ways. If you want to use his mobility in a debate then you can't talk about gedo mazo and vice versa. Its a trade off that goes hand in hand.

Nagato might have a very wide range of jutsu but Itachi can easily discern his opponent's jutsu and always finds a way to counter them. Intelligence is also a key factor in battle, not just power. Not to mention, Itachi himself is also powerful.
