actually, you're right. rinnegan was wasted on nagato. instead of using the benefits it grants(5 nature mastery,...), he only spammed rinnegan techs.

I'm pretty sure Nagato had some idea of his own Lineage lol. He did show a few Sealing Techniques, or The Rinnegan itself showed the Sealing Techniques similar to what Uzumaki Kushina showed.
