Nagato disabled for a reason?

Was nagato disabled for a particular reason? Was looking back at the nagato edo fight and I realised how strong Nagato was even without the use of his legs.

Could it be that Nagato's fate when he summoned the gedo was planned by Obito/Madara? Obito may have seen what nagato was capable of both rinnegan wise and chakra usuage wise. For example Uzumaki's were said to have amazing amounts of chakra now give the rinnegan to them and they will be near on invincible. For example look what Nagato was able to achieve while using a pain, that had already fought jiraiya and destroyed Konoha.

I think personally Madara/Obito implemented the chakra rods to make sure Nagato HAD to follow through with the plan.

I believe it's for plot reasons, he could have easily got a new pair of legs through his rinnengan abilities such as assura path that lets you create limbs or nakara path that heals.

I don't see how madara or obito could have planned nagato using the gedo statue in that way . Madara was dead by then . Obito coudnt have controlled the gedo statue by then because he did not have the rinnegan back then . It was just hanzo's doing and yahiko dying that drove nagato mad .
And if he had been healthy , than naruto would have lost back then and half of the nine tails would have got captured .

Im actually just talking about whether there was a reason for Nagato to be disabled the way he was. And true but it's more likely that when he was pierced in the spin then he lost the use of his legs, usually what happens.

Of course, a healthy Nagato would simply have been far too OP to handle for anyone without plot playing a huge part. [It already played a huge part in the Pein vs Naruto fight]

Well kishi had to make nagato beatable to Sm naurto.

With plot disabled, Nagato could walk, use Rinnegan and EMS techs (since The eyes he had were marada's after all and madara already proven that susanoo can be use while the rinnegan is active)

Thats 3 different ways to be capable of moving around with just Rinnegan abilities.

I could believe kishi made the guy too strong because look at itachi, he was blind when he died yet he came back fully recovered, and nagato died and came back, he still couldn't use his legs, tell me that doesn't scream plot.
