The final point is just EMS. You get a bonus when you get DNA from someone from the Senju clan. So I don't think Madara knew how to get Rinnegan. It just happened and he found out about it.
I think you can just inherit it. You don't need to do all the shit above to get Rinnegan. You could just inherit it to use it. Why did Tobi choose Nagato out of everybody else? Nagato awakened it by himself seeing his parents dead.
I think Tobi was mad, so he just said, "I gave him those eyes." but really, It was Nagato's. Tobi just stole it and claimed it as his own.

No it doesn't (deactivate it self, that is). Tobi's wall is proof of that. The single event we have regarding that was when Itachi died. And he deactivated his sharingan before his death.

Kakashi is able to go from sharingan to MS and then go back to sharingan and he's not an Uchiha. So Nagato should in theory be able to do the same.

Firstly Nagato had to awaken the Rinnegan mainly because there is no evidence proving Tobi gave it to him. And are people are really forgetting the fact that Edo Madara has Hashirama Cells on his body? without them he has no Rinnegan.

Now, some more reasons why I don't think he awakened the Rinnegan on his own, mainly because of lack of information. We do not know if Nagato knew that Rinnegan was the final form of Sharingan, so it would be nice if we knew if he had the information. Not to mention, the only hint we have about his Rinnegan is what Tobi said. Even if he is a liar, besides awakening the Rinnegan, this is the only hint we have for now. Maybe there will be more information about the Rinnegan later on, and we'll be able to learn more about it.

I mean time and time again we see posts claiming that Madara gave Nagato the rinnegan however you people do realize that it came from the mouth of a liar, who lied about being Madara and being involved in the attack on Konoha when Naruto was born. And I understand Tobi may have given Nagato the rinnegan but please people do not jump to conclusions so fast, who knows Madara might have known Nagato by some other means.

I believe that they were Madara's eyes, otherwise.. where would they have come from? before Madara died.. he (possibly) created Tobi/Zetsu and gave them his eyes, entrusted Tobi and ordered him to implement his eyes into Nagato, which was a kid from the Uzumaki clan, Madara was hoping that someday Nagato would grow up and raise him with his Outer Path, but he didn't..

It's not a hard thing for Tobi to kind of kidnap Nagato (assuming being a child..) into his space-time Jutsu, transplant Madara's eyes, then return him back to where he was.

That's my theory anyways.

You guys are just ****ing idiots. The Senju came from the SO6P who had the Rinnegan, right? And the Uzumaki are related to the Senju, right? Which makes them related to the SO6P, right? I guess that would mean that the Uzumaki and the Senju have the genetic potential to awaken the Rinnegan. Just because Kabuto said that the Rinnegan comes after EMS, does not mean that the Rinnegan can't be acquired through genetics - Nagato being the example for this. We actually saw him awaken it when he got pissed for his parents death. It's usually not a matter of Manga but a matter of thinking.

however i crucnhed the numbers and this what i came up

plain uchiha: 14% chance aybe 20%

senju: 12%

uzumaki: ???? (we don't even know they are hybirds of uchiha and senju because it never specifically said who else gave rise to them) but if they are and for all its worth 30%

so far we hit 62% of 100% the other 38% GOES to a senju/uchiha hybrid
because the senju and uchiha are the main branch from the rikudo senin. however over time some traits by the law genetics will be lost so thats why if there are uchiha and senju hybirds out there you don't see them going around with rinnegan

ergo its possible not to be a uchiha and awaken the rinnegan.

also kabuto has a history of jumping the gun. no im being serious he sometimes thinks to far ahead and screws up somewhere.

but another thing is uchiha madara. killed his best friend, and then his brother to awaken the EMS. probably on his dying day did he ever awaken the rinnegan in a attempt for his own body to save but in turn it killed him because of the massive need for chakra right then and there. because he did not have it well you guess what happens next. also lets be honest if harishima and madara could change the map so drasticly in a battle one of them is packing a secret technique or somthing else to be able to change the map around so drasticly

as we know Rinnegan is the final form of Sharingan .. Uzumakis dont have Sharingan as far as i know ...

Genetics act differently from person to person and since the uzamaki are related to senju and senju is a direct bloodline from SO6P it is a low probability but still possible for nagato to awaken the rinnagon
