Nagato and Madara's Rinnegan

So uhm something had been bugging me since i discovered that Madara gave Nagato the Rinnegan,
as seen in the manga and anime, Nagato's eyes were normal before awakening the Rinnegan,
and since we all now know the Rinnegan is an other evolution of the Sharingan/MS/EMS eye,
and it would have required Senju and Uchiha DNA to unlock it, i'm left puzzled.

So my questions to you guys are,
1- Why didn't Nagato awakened just the Sharingan/MS or EMS ?
2- Nagato didn't have any Uchiha DNA, so how was he able to awaken the Rinnegan on first try ?

it was madara's eyes in rinnegan mode transplanted into nagato while under genjutsu.

As far as I know we've never seen Nagato without the Rinnegan.

Where did you see his normal eyes? I've only seen the Rinnegan on Nagato.

Please post the page which shows Nagato having normal eyes.

Nagato never unlocked those eyes, he was given them by Madara. Which it seems took a major toll on his body due to the lack of the DNA combination, and lead him to have to be on life support like Madara.

Everyone knows dudes on life support at the local hospital are always the most dangerous.
