Nagato and madara

Nagato was said to have mastered every element jiraiya taught him. Which was also said that it was because he possessed the rin. My though is if the rin gives ability's of the six paths and all five elements why has madara only. Shown fire. Instead he can counter with other elements while battling. Seems Kishi forgot this maybe or I am wrong and madara will show more elements not that he has to.

1. Nagato's mastery over the elements was said to have been due to his own ability, not the Rinnegan.
2. Madara most definitely knows other elements beside Fire, it's just that Uchiha are customed to using fire release techniques.

When the Rinnegan is acquired, the other elements don't just come to the wielder like that out of thin air, they still need an introduction. But, the Rinnegan makes extraordinarily easy to master the elements. I doubt Katon was Madara's only element, he may know Suiton from Tobirama (if he has ever seen Tobirama perform Suiton). Madara also has Mokuton, which is a combo of Earth and Water, so he might know some Earth. Other than that, I got nothin else.
