Sora is a rather goofy looking boy. He is at an odd stage in his life causing him to have a mix of both childish and maturing features. He is slowly growing out of his chubby cheeks, fitting himself in a strong jaw and built shoulders mostly thanks to his training at the Academy. Over the course of a year he grew to tower over his older brother at an impressive 5’7”. It’s unlikely that he will gain much if any more height, but the sudden growth has made him look awkwardly lanky and thin. With Sora’s height also comes a plethora of other oddities. He is clumsy as he adjusts to his growth spurt and because of that has had a few minor accidents while training.His hair is brown and spiked and wild, doing pretty much anything it wants on a good day and on a bad day is almost unmanageable. Sora has given up trying to do much with his hair as the spikes have a mind of their own. Luckily for him most of the brown tufts seem to clump together just at the bridge of his forehead. His hair flows down in the back at the very bottom of his neck and completely covers his ears on both sides in another set of spikes. Sora is almost always smiling and holds a warm atmosphere about him. It matches his very enthusiastic personality and gives him a look of someone who is easy to entertain or surprise. His eyes are bright blue with thin eyebrows and thick and feminine eyelashes.
Another oddity about Sora is his choice in wardrobe. Honestly…there’s not much to choose from. He is tall for his age and lanky which makes his style of clothing very limited for his personal preference. His clothing is modest a he prefers to wear his favorite colors consisting mostly of black, reds, blues, whites, and yellows. Sora wears a tight short-sleeved shirt that is red in color and wears a black jacket with a white hood over top. On both sleeves of the red jacket nestles a pouch on each forearm that is made of a buckles patches. In the pouch he typically keeps hidden Shuriken and other shinobi supplies that take up very small amounts of space like smoke bombs. At his waist is a rather odd belt that loops twice around his thin waist. Chains also hang from the loops of his pants. The loops are made of leather form a loose x as they sit on his hips. As Sora is right handed, his Shinobi pouch sits on the right side of his belt. This is where he keeps the bulk of his Ninja tools such as shuriken, kunai, and wire as well. He wears a dark blue pair of leather shorts a pair of rather large yellow shoes. His headband rests on the center of his belt line. Sometimes Sora can be seen in a different outfit that is similar but fits a dominantly black color set.

Close your eyes. Do you feel it? As you sit across from Sora, there is warmth emanating from him. There is a Light within him and it is ever blinding. The Darkness in your heart, if there is any, seems to flee at its presence. You want to be a better person and you can't truly explain why. Sora has the presence of purity around him. He is gullible and naive, but not unwise. His heart is easy to forgive but also easily broken and easily mended. You tell yourself no one can change me, but your heart beats just a little faster and the thought flees you. The idea of embracing the warmth in front of you seems enticing. You can feel his smile burning onto your face and you only want to smile with him.You feel he is the type to do anything for those he is close to. Truthfully he would. There is a courageous look in his eyes, but you also sense a rebellious stare. He'll do whatever it takes to protect his friends even if it meant losing his heart. After all, he had done it before for Kairi. This rebelliousness also twists into something more childish. He's competitive and strong. There doesn't seem to be a challenge that he would refuse. He would give it his all no matter how tired or beat he was.
There is a hate--no that is too strong a word. Sora seems incapable of something so dark. There is a strong dislike of the darkness in the world. You sense he almost feels sorry for those who have given in to the darkness. How sad they must be. There's something else. There is love. Oh, there is so much love within him and forgiveness too. How can someone understand so easily? It seems he believes there is good in everyone if you're patient enough to snuff it out.
Sora is confused, battling with himself to identify reality from his false memories. Over time he may seem out of place and in obvious turmoil within himself. He will need good friends to help him in the right path.

You were born wild and free. You lived carelessly and childishly on Destiny Islands with your friends Riku and Kairi. The idea of other worlds never pressed you until Kairi came along. She said she remembered nothing of where she came from, but somehow she ended up on your world. She was life in human form, and your connection to her was something of fate's design. You and Riku butted heads a lot, but it was truly only to make each other stronger. You looked up to him and you wanted to be like him, but more importantly you wanted to impress Kairi.Kairi wanted to get away. She was convinced that there were other worlds, and her words convinced you. The three of you decided to build a raft and try and find other worlds together. It didn't matter how far you got so long as you were with them. However, the world had other plans. Darkness came knocking, and your plans for life were swept from underneath you.
Kairi was swept away from before you; the Door to the Darkness was opened. Riku welcomed it. You reached out for him but he was swallowed in the black shroud. You would have been lost too had you not fought it. That is when the Keyblade chose you. A brilliant weapon of the heart, it was the only thing that stood in the way of the Heartless in their attempt to eat away at the hearts of the worlds. You learned the true horrors of the Heartless so very young, but your heart was pure and filled with a magnificent Light. You'll be okay.
so little time
You would need help in your journey to defeat the Heartless. Lucky for you, a small mouse--a king--knew how to find you. He sent two friends your way: Donald and Goofy. It wasn’t going to be an easy adventure, but the fate of worlds was in your hands. All you wanted to do was find your friends. If you could help out others along the way, then you would. And so you did.There were so many worlds out there. Each one of them had lost something to the Darkness, and it was your job to restore the Light in the worlds. With all of your hard work, there was always someone out there who only sought to darken that light. They sought to put it out. You could only completely rid a world of Darkness if you sealed the Key Hole at its center. You would need to struggle to do that. You had to fight and you had to be strong. It was never meant to be easy, but your friends helped you along the way.
There were times when saving the worlds meant that you had to give up a piece of yourself. You had to put your friends on hold so that one day the three of you could live safely and happily. You never gave up though and it showed in the laughs and smiles that you brought with you to new worlds. The longer you fought the more you learned. The more you learned the more determined you were to defeat the Heartless once and for all.
Ansem. The head honcho of the Heartless world. Much like Riku, he too had lost himself to the Darkness. You would need to defeat him to end the madness that was eating away at the worlds. He believed that Kingdom Hearts was darkness, but it was truly always Light. He wanted darkness so much, that he was blinded by the Light that ultimately destroyed him.
take your time
The fight was never easy. Then again, the fight was never supposed to be easy, but you did it. Ansem was defeated and the balance between light and dark had finally been restored. This wasn’t the plan you had in mind. However, the plan you had in mind was never truly solid. What if the raft did get you to another world? You wonder where you would be now. If it didn’t work, you wanted to live your days out with your friends. You would have been happier, but that wasn’t your calling now was it?
The fight has made you stronger. You’ve done what you were chosen to do. They Keyblade chose you. That’s what you thought, but did it really? Riku once said that there could only be one Keyblade master. It always confused you that he too could wield the Keyblade. Had he once been chosen only to lose this on his path to darkness? You’ll never know and it doesn’t matter.
Riku set his path straight after your fight with Ansem. He made up for his mistakes. You worry about him and King Mickey. The two of them would never leave your mind. Riku locked himself in Kingdom Hearts to help fend off the horde of Heartless within it. You closed your friend within it, sealing the key hole once and for all. This is one of your many regrets, but the choice was his and his alone. You had no right to deny him that.
Your true pain comes from having to leave Kairi behind. You finally find your friends only to be separated from them once again. You wanted desperately to go back to Destiny Islands with Kairi, but your friend still needed you. You had to find Riku. It was too soon for you to go back to Destiny Islands. You watch as Kairi is taken away from you again, but you know that she is safe at least. You still had so very much to do, and the fight has made you tired—so very tired.
don't be afraid
You are falling. There is nothing but the ocean below you. You are numb both in body and in mind. The fight has tired you and there is nothing left to feel. There is no fear of death only a want to sleep. That is unlike you, but you are so very tired. The ocean approaches fast, but you do not brace yourself. You welcome the waves and crash into them, falling faster down into the depths of the blue waters. The light from above slowly fades the deeper you dive until the world around you is shrouded in complete darkness.That darkness is cold. As you fall you notice there is a light calling to you. Little by little you can feel its warmth overwhelming you. It is the light within the heart. It welcomes you, so you embrace the Dive. The closer you get the more you see. There’s a circular platform beneath. Light streams through its bright pattern reflecting a beautiful mosaic picture. You’ve been here before, but when? You can’t seem to remember.
It seems you would keep falling and crash into the glass below, but you fear nothing. The closer you get the slower you fall until gravity itself cradles you. You land safely on the glass and peer around. This is the Dive to the Heart.
You recognize the faces on the mosaic pattern. This is you and your friends. That’s right you found them didn’t you—Riku and Kairi? The other two were Donald and Goofy. The time you spent together warms your heart. You clutch your chest, but you feel so foggy and sleepy.
"we did it"
Something grabs your attention. It is a thought but nothing more. It isn’t your thought, but someone else. They are speaking to you from somewhere else. You are so tired. No words can escape you as you stand there weak.
“it’s over now”
A smile forms on your face and a sense of relief entangles you as you begin to fall to your knees. The world around you begins to blur and darken.

You open your eyes. The familiar sounds of the waves welcome you. The waves are lighter...it's a river, not an ocean. Birds fly overhead and the clouds stare down at you from their place in the heavens. The smell of surrounding forest pierces your nose and the rays of the sun feels good against your skin. “Sora you lazy bum!”The voice startles you and you turn around smiling bright. "Give me a break, Kairi" You lift yourself from the warm grass and turn to face a woman before you. For a moment you thought you saw Kairi, but as your eyes focus your heart sinks.
"Who's Kairi?" The woman before you looks concerned. She's leaned over you with her hands placed firmly on her knees. "I think you hit your head a lil hard" She stares at you with concern. Had you not actually fallen from the sky? "You should get that looked at" There was a sigh in her breath. She wears a strange band upon her hand fitted with a symbol of unknown origin. You later learn it's the symbol of the village. You take a moment to look around. This wasn't Destiny Island. In fact, you'd never seen this world before. Just where are you?
can you do it?
You were introduced to a new world, residing in the land known as The Land of Fire, and apparently there was no way off of this world. Your Gummi ship is no where to be found. You’re all too familiar with the idea of there being other worlds out there. In fact, other worlds seem to always draw you in—welcome or unwelcome. This one is different though. There are no Heartless as far as you can tell. You can't access your magic any more...you're a blank slate. No one would believe you anyway. You'd only make yourself look crazy.
You’re not used to being in a world that doesn’t seem to need saving from the Heartless. The thought soothes you, but worries you all the same. You can only guess that this world is a home for those whose worlds were unable to be restored. Had you failed or was this just the aftermath of your adventures? Neither of those ideas sounds particularly great to you.
There’s no turning back. There’s no Gummi ship for you to hop on and make your way back home. Donald and Goofy are nowhere to be found. Kairi was safe at Destiny Island but out of reach as far as you know, and Riku is locked in Kingdom Hearts with King Mickey. You want to go find Riku, but this world is now forcibly your home. So what are you going to do?
Maybe your life from before was never real...maybe you really did forget who you were. Were Riku and Kairi real? The Heartless? King Mickey? You can't summon the Keyblade any more. You can't use the magic you learned. You're now a clean slate thrown into a world you know nothing about, forced to question the legality of your broken memories.
You live your life the best you can. Blend in, adjust, survive. That’s what you do. You finish school (Which they painfully refer to as the Academy in this world) because apparently that’s required. Your advance in the ranks, learn about their ways. Their Jutsu, their Chakra. You're a Genin now. Fresh out of the Academy. Albeit you're a bit older than olthers of your rank, but you've been through so much to get where you are now. How will you handle your life in this new world? You'll keep looking for Kairi and Riku. Whether they remember you or not...that's another problem you'll deal with when you get there. It’s hard but you make new friends. You’ll never forget your old ones. They’re a part of you—a part of your heart.
Besides…you’ll see them again. Right?
re: origins
Would like to note that most of Sora's history are false memories. Sora grew up in the outskirts of Hi no Kuni, far off in the forest within a small village that lived on the river. After a large storm, Sora's village was washed away and he was dragged by the current and towards a more central village in the land where he was later found. His memories of his previous village are quite fuzzy but I plan to reveal them over time as I further develop his character.
Unbeknownst to him, Sora was born in a small river village nestled in the forests outside of Hi no Kuni. His village supplied fish and harvested fruits in exchange for protection from the Shinobi. Sora grew up with as a single child with two very caring friends with odd similarities to the two children that plague his now crumbled memories. A storm flooded the river where their village sat, washing away its entirity. Sora was caught in the storm and swept away in the currents where he then found himself residing in Hi no Kuni. During the ordeal his memories were replaced with a fantasy world. He remembers nothing of his mother and father and his companions in his altered memories are fragments of his loved ones from his village life.
