Mystical Chapter 9: Among the Smoke
(After defeating the demented Carnage and reconciling with Streak, Melody and her friends proceed to the new dimension they recently arrived in. The landscape was barren, no trees or animals seemed to be present. The dimension was completely devoid of any lifeforms. The atmosphere was dark, but it was partially lit by semi-bright celestial bodies, in constant movement.)
Mike: This place is so depressing.
Fangs: (smiling) I know right.
(Lupus interjected himself into their conversation.)
Lupus: (to Fangs) What are you so happy about?
Fangs: Well most of the other places were so light, so it's kind of relaxing for a vampire like me to be in such a dark place.
Lupus: (under his breath) Yeah, maybe now you won't be so bi--
(Mike interrupts their conversation frightened shriek)
Melody (stops. turns around and looks at Mike): What's wrong?
Mike: (pointing to his left) I saw something move!
Fangs: It's the lights that are moving, retard.
Mike: Forget you. Anyways Melody I really did see something move over there.
(The whole group looks in the direction Mike pointed to and see nothing. They all turn around to continue their journey, when Melody's flute starts to glow with a dark purplish hue. The deep color disappears and the glowing stops after a few seconds.)
Streak: Does it usually do that?
Melody: (sighing) No not really but since it's done I guess everything it okay let's...
(Melody pauses, her eyes wide with amazement as she witnesses a column of black smoke rising out from the ground. The black smoke spreads over a vast portion of the surrounding land in a matter of seconds. As fast as it grew to be so large though, it shrunk to a size of two average full grown men. The smoke started to take form before the eyes of the shocked group.)
Fangs: What the mess is going on..?
(The completed form of the "black smoke creature" was something unfamiliar to their eyes. It had the torso and lower body similar to that of a snake, the arms, face structure, and mouth similar to a human, and piercing eyes as red as blood. The creature's "hair" was similar to smoke vacating a chimney.)
Mike: That was so cool. Could you do that agai... wait I'm on you guys side so maybe I shouldn't be so fascinated with some smoke guy so I'm gonna stop talking right now.
(The creature floated toward the group, gazing at each one of them before locking his sight on Melody.)
Smoke creature: (in a menacing, coarse, and frightening tone): Melody.
(Melody stepped back an inch, with Streak doing the same and putting his arm in front of her to protect her.)
Melody: (confused) Yeah..
[Smoke creature:/COLOR] Too...many
Lupus: (also stepping up for Melody's protection) Too many what?
(The smoke creature turned it's face away from the group. A sinister grin was carved onto his face, the grin however turned into the same frown he had earlier once his eyes met up with there's again. Black smoke started to rise out of the ground surrounding him as he stood in front of the group, causing them to shield their eyes due to the smoke advancing towards them engulfing them all in a cloud of it.)
Fangs: (covering her eyes) Seriously another fight..
(The smoke creature rushed towards Melody, with Streak being an indirect target, and knocked the two lovebirds outside of the recently created smoke cloud. The two slid across the ground beneath them, until a rock stopped their path causing them to grunt in pain. Back in the smoke cloud Fangs, Mike, Lupus, and Pantatharus started to become drowsy.)
Lupus:(yawning) I... think .. this is... sleeping gas... Panta..tha..rus could you....
(Lupus fell to the ground sound asleep due to the effects of the smoke, leaving the barely clinging to consciousness Mike, Fangs, and Pantatharus. Pantatharus however, lethargically started to walk outside of the smoke before he would succumb to the same fate Lupus had.)
