Chapter Two: High Hopes and Low Questions
I was getting my hopes up too high again. I could not stop think about him and every word he had said to me although my three morning classes and on the way to lunch with Claria and my brother. Claria would not shut up about some stupid test that she did not study for and some hot guy or other. I’m really not sure on what it was because I was spaced out a little too much.
“Hey Bookie? Can I copy your science homework?” Airy asks jokingly; knowing I would never let her do that unless I was not paying attention or was in the clouds.
“Sure…” I said, not knowing what I had said or gotten myself into.
My brother waves his hand in front of my face.
“Cloud nine again,” He observes as he states the obvious.
“Of course. EARTH TO ALEXANDRYEA!!”
I jump and snap out of my thoughts.
“Yes Mom?” I say as I glare at her.
“Are you part of Katy Perry’s song ‘Wide Awake’ or are you not part of this planet?” she asks kiddingly.
Galen and I end up laughing at this remark.
Although lunch and the rest of the day, Zackeray never showed his face. I forgot about him until I drove home that afternoon. In Rallan County it’s possible to get your license at fifteen without having to get your permit. I just turned 16 a few weeks ago.
Rallan County, population 561; where life is the sweetest for even for the wolves and the strangest of people. That is our motto for the county. It is surrounded, by endless forest, and is known for our wolves that are white during the summer and brown in the winter.
The leaves where changing color and falling off the trees as of this month is September. With my brother driving home my best friend, slash soon to be sister-in law and my stereo being broke; I had a hard time constrating on driving. So instead of paying attention, I accidently spaced out for a second, which was actually minutes not a second. The world slowed down for a second then blackness.[/COLOR]
