1. itachi doesnt need eye contact to put him in genjutsu period. On that note how does he get out of his genjutsu. Nagato has no feats on getting out of any genjutsu. Also, doesnt matter if he knows not to look an uchiha in the eyes. Kakashi knew and got caught in the shit as he was explaining it. Sasuke knew yet he was caught even though he broke it. Itachi is a genjutsu master. He has his ways of making people look in his eyes just like the second time itachi fought kakashi.

2) itachi used his kunai jutsu to block the linked vision of the animal paths.

3) doesnt matter if he can sense amaterasu. He cant sense where its coming cus he wouldve sensed it when he got hit with amaterasu

1-Itachi needs eye-contact to use Tsukiyomi. Itachi needs eye contact for his strong genjutsu in general. Rinnegan users are resilient to genjutsu. Weak genjutsu wont work. Ibiki caught the Animal Path in a genjustu(its a dead body and not Nagato himself) and it easily broke out.

2-Kabuto was controlling Nagato and was completely focused on Naruto and Bee. Itachi found a blind spot between the two summons because Kabuto was careless.

3-Kabuto didn't have Nagato counter amaterasu because he was still shocked about the fact that Itachi was able to break out of edo tensei. He was more focused on Itachi's explanation than Nagato the immortal regenerating zombie.

All you should know is that it was Kabuto using Nagato's moves. All of Nagato's errors were due to Kabuto's carelessness. He's no rinnegan expert like Nagato.
