Eh, I couldn't find a dedicated 'Feedback Forum' so I guess I'll just place this in here.

I've been a member here for only a little over a month, but I think I've got a good feel for the forum so I figured I would share my thoughts.

As a note I'm only making this topic because as a member I feel it's my responsibility to suggest new things, criticize things, and compliment on existing things. I find that staff of forums (especially this large) can use productive feedback, when posted accurately.

-Forum structure and layout is extremely vast, which is obviously in place because of the vastness of the community itself. The only suggestion here is to take off the '150 post rule' to be able to view/submit the Fanfic Competition Section. I would love to view it and participate but only have around 50 posts. I don't like spam so I don't go around spamming, yet I don't want to wait 3+ months to reach 150 posts just to be able to view something I'm interested in.

-The overall intellect (as well as simple things like grammar, patience, respect) is really lacking in mostly all forums I visit here. Is it possible to create a 'Deep Discussion' forum for members who have shown they post and intend to keep posting maturely/intellectually, and are overall considered quality posters? I'm not pointing the finger at anyone for being immature or anything. I realize this is a forum targeted for mostly kids who enjoy animated shows but I think a specific forum for a different bread of members can be acceptable and useful as well.

-Some of the global rules are hard for me to translate. Specifically the one about advertising. An example: <--Is this thread alright or against the rules? I edited it (the legal streaming links) after a few members told me I was breaking the rules, but I'm still not sure if I was or not.

-I don't think there is any distinction between the 'Naruto Discussion' and 'Naruto Manga' forums. They're both filled with Obito/Tobi threads that don't even belong there.

-There are usually only 4 mods online for every 400 members. I think the problem here speaks for itself.

--------------------------

-I'm really enjoying the 'Naruto Predictions' forum.

-I've only asked help from a mod once, and the response was swift and accurate, so that's nice.

-Love the simple style and banner.

--------------------------

I hope someone from staff reads this and can maybe reply. If not I hope my feedback is somehow useful for the boards. Thanks for reading.

what makes you think your "deep discussion" thread wont get trolled like every other one? the fact that you feel like your opinions belong in a whole other forum comes off kind of arrogant too. just sayin'

cus their are a lot of ignorant niggers on this base.
Really? The spam of that and the racism. You are obviously and alt but I reported you none the less.

lol! the irony in this post is just....

no need for the spam. just report the post and move on.

OT: It is a very good site, just keep your head down, don't get involved in flame wars and when you see a troll just report it. Don't spam like the rest of these neanderthals.

You are in it right now.

-Forum structure and layout is extremely vast, which is obviously in place because of the vastness of the community itself. As far as I know you don't need 150 posts to submit a fanfiction. You just have to be a registered member to view those sections. There are many posts/threads by users with few posts. Even bots get into it. >_>

-The overall intellect (as well as simple things like grammar, patience, respect) is really lacking in mostly all forums I visit here. Is it possible to create a 'Deep Discussion' forum for members who have shown they post and intend to keep posting maturely/intellectually, and are overall considered quality posters? I realize this is a forum targeted for mostly kids who enjoy animated shows but I think a specific forum for a different bread of members can be acceptable and useful as well.

The idea is attractive and has come up before but that will kind of draw a wedge between users - those whom we believe worth participating in discussions and those who will be kept out of the group. And probably would over all deteriorate the quality of thread in the normal sections.

Still I am not really shooting the idea down. It was recommonded to admins last time I think. So it may be implemented if we can come up with a way to keep the side effects to a minnimum.

bal rules are hard for me to translate. Specifically the one about advertising. An example: <--Is this thread alright or against the rules? I edited it (the legal streaming links) after a few members told me I was breaking the rules, but I'm still not sure if I was or not.

Links which take the user to other sites are also to be avoided if it is for promotional/advetising purpose or would. You broke the rules. People are aware of official sites and if they want they can use internet search engines. You didn't have to provide active URLs.

-I don't think there is any distinction between the 'Naruto Discussion' and 'Naruto Manga' forums. They're both filled with Obito/Tobi threads that don't even belong there.

There is. Discussions for the latest arc, theories and predictions should be posted in Naruto manga only. Naruto discussions is for general discussions. Spoliers for the latest or upcoming chapter have no place in there. Naruto manga forum provides the prefixes for that.

But we have too many young members for whom this forum is their first internet forum and they do not underststand how it works. They probably do not tidy even their bed so they seem to think who are we to make them post threads in proper section.

We try to move threads in their dedicated forum but some may get unnoticed.

-There are usually only 4 mods online for every 400 members. I think the problem here speaks for itself.

Yeah maybe we can use a few more mods. But, no matter how many mods there are we need people's co-operation and they need to do their own best while chosing the correct sections for posting threads and pay attention to other forum rules as well.

Chosing a mod is not that easy as admins want sincere and mature users who have time and inclination to do volunteer work, can work as part of the team and be trusted not to misuse their position in any way.

Many people like coloured name and large ava but when they realise that is the only thing they are going to get while doing "actual work" and putting up with crap which comes up with mod job, the job loses it's charm pretty fast for many of them. Moving threads to their right sections all day long is not really all that interesting.

There was nothing arrogant about it. All he was stating is that he would like to be able to have a meaningful discussion without immature comments. Which is perfectly acceptable.

You can view the regular fanfic section, but not the one designated for competitions without having at least 150 posts, unfortunately.

That's a possibility, but I think even more-so than that it could be a motivator for members to increase their quality when posting to be able to have discussion there.

Links which take the user to other sites are also to be avoided if it is for promotional/advetising purpose or would. You broke the rules. People are aware of official sites and if they want they can use internet search engines. You didn't have to provide active URLs.

Fair enough.

I see what you're saying. I don't know very many people that are mod-worthy that would want to be an internet janitor. Granted, it still helps when you have such a large ratio of members to mods (especially young members).

Thanks for the reply.

I don't handle FF contests but if there is such a rule added for it, the reason would be to avoid cheating.

People sometime make fake new accounts just to vote for themselves or their friends. When they have a sufficient amount of decent posts it lessens the probability of such incidents.

You can pariticipate in forum games for quick raise in your post count though. If you are posting a fiction yourself then it is all well and good.

You cannot pick on people's grammar and language here. Not everyone on NB has English as their first language. That does not stop them from being worthy fans and that does not stop them from posting. We just have to bear it. U_U
