I decide to write a different thread, because this theory give a different take. The dead that are under the influence of Edo tensei are controlled by a person ( in this case Orochimaru). There is a bond (contract) between the Edo and Orochimaru. This contract cannot be broken easily. It can only be broken if you know the hand seals or a unique technique that is more powerful. This bond ( contract) gives control of Edo, no matter what. In other words is stronger than a genjutsu. Thus far the only genjutsu able to break the control of the Edo Tensei was Kotoamatsukami, which was able to override the control over the Edo. An as far as we know, Kotoamatsukami is the most powerful genjutsu technique that has existed.
Another reason that the Edo Tensei contract is so difficult to break is that the restraining power on the Edo Tensei was enhanced by the use of Hashiramas cells.
I have another theory ( which I prefer) that I may share latter about the edo tensei inmunity, but there is just too little information.
