I'm actually planning to make this into a book. So, I didn't reveal the title for personal reasons. I couldn't fit the whole thing at one time so here's the first 2 pages.
My name is Jack Numod, and I'm in sixth grade. My story starts on a Friday morning. I woke up and no one was in my house. I looked everywhere for my family.
"Mom? Dad?" I yelled. No one was in my house. I walked downstairs and made myself a bowl of cereal.
"Maybe Mom and Dad just went somewhere without telling me," I said to myself. "Yeah, maybe I should just leave a note for them when I leave." After finishing my breakfast, I looked at the time and saw it was 7:27. My bus would arrive at 7:30, and school started at 8:00. I quickly wrote a note and taped it on my refrigerator. I got my backpack and left my house.
On the bus it was hard to concentrate on doing my homework. (I always do a little bit of my homework when I get back from school and finish the rest of my homework on my bus.) Every kid on the bus either talked or shouted for no reason. The day already started out bad.
When I got to school, I didn't even get to finish my homework. My school was Cox Middle School, home of the Cats. My teacher was Mr. Sam, when I got in my classroom the most horrible thing happened. My teacher was asking everybody if they finished their homework. Why did he have to ask!
"Jack, did you finish your homework?" Mr. Sam asked.
"Well...I didn't have a good day, and...Well I didn't finish it," I said. I closed my eyes, preparing for the most horrible punishment in the world.
"Jack, I might not be surprised you didn't finish your homework, but you have to finish it. Next week, Mr. James, the principal is going to every classroom and is checking everything in all the classrooms. If, you don't do your homework, then we might not win the golden ribbon. Please, do your homework," Mr. Sam said. Mr. Sam is being nice? I thought.
He has never been nice! I thought. He never even cares about winning the golden ribbon. Maybe he got hit in the head or something. Something is weird about Mr. Sam. I thought.
"O.K., Mr. Sam. I'll try to do my homework." Everything in class today seemed to go slower than I hoped it would.
Finally, lunch came. They served my favorite, spaghetti casserole. After I got salad, fruit, and a cookie as side dishes, I went to the seat where I always sit in, but someone was sitting there already. Ronald, the school?s biggest computer lover, was sitting there. No one has ever sat at my seat. Normally I would teach them a lesson.
"Hey, Ronald, that's my seat," I said, willing to cut Ronald a slack. Every nerd listened to what I said.
"I don't care, Idiot. I can sit wherever I want, and there's nothing you can do about it," Ronald said. That was weird; Ronald was the nicest person in the school.
"Wow, who cranked you up?" I said.
?What?s it to yah?? Ronald said.
?Listen you?re a nice person...and I?m not! Now get out of my seat!? I started to get mad.
?What are you going to do? Throw your salad? Wow, I?m so scared!?
I didn?t know what to do. No one ever acted like this to me anymore because the last time someone acted annoying to me I broke his arm and bruised his face. My body wasn?t in my control anymore. My rage was building up. I put down my tray and punched him in the guts. Unfortunately, he had quick reflexes and deflected my fist to the table. Lucky for me, I trained myself to get used to that. I was pretty strong for my age, so it didn?t hurt a bit. I decided to settle it later...Mr. James the principal was walking down the hallway and could see me.
?You just got lucky.? I picked up my tray and looked for another seat.
The rest of the day seemed to pass by quickly. Everybody seemed to act weird, so I tried to ignore them. Finally it was dismissal time. It continued to be weird on the bus. David came up to me and said.
?Hey, Jack. Can I go to your house today?? David said.
?I?ll have to ask my parents first, O.K.?? I replied.
?What do you mean??
?I have to ask my parents first.?
?Wow, you mean you got adopted!?
?What??
?Yeah, you got adopted??
?What do you mean??
?You?re an orphan, aren?t you??
?No, did you get hit by a book or something??
?No, did you??
The day just kept getting weirder. Either everybody today got hit on the head, or something else was going on. It took a long time for the bus to reach my house, but I finally got home. I walked in the garage and didn?t see my mom and dad?s car. ?O.K. maybe Mom and Dad just went on a little vacation and forgot about me?hopefully there is some food in the house.? I said to myself, nervously. I ran to the road and looked around. All of a sudden, I felt like something bit my leg. I looked at my leg and I saw a small teeth mark. I tried to ignore it, and then I thought of something. I ran into the kitchen. My note was still where I left it, but there was another note on the kitchen table. Must have been made by Mom and Dad this morning and I didn?t see it, I thought. I picked up the note and read it.
Dear Mr. Jack Numod,
You are in great danger. Last night when you were sleeping, Kud, an evil scientist sent you into another dimension. Since this is so, you do not have parents, monsters are real, and everyone is the opposite of what they are in your world. I am watching you. I?ll meet you eventually. Stay safe. I?ve put an invisible dome around your house to keep you safe. Do not leave your house! Do not trust people. The monsters can shape themselves like your friends. You are not safe!
Sincerely,

?This is crazy,? I thought. ?There are no such things as monsters. This has to be a prank.?
All of a sudden, Jack heard a crack that was coming from his balcony.
