I've been intending to make this thread for a while, but just haven't gotten around to it. So here it is:
There always seems to be a debate about whether or not Tobi has a basic Sharingan, MS, or EMS. I personally believe that he has MS. With that being said the most important thing to remember is that Kishi explicitly stated that you need at least MS to control the Kyuubi:
And that gaining MS isn't something that a lot of Uchiha have done:
Now I know that Tobi seemed to control the Kyuubi with MS, but you could argue that Kishi intentionally omitted it to hide his identity. And I also know that Madara seemed to use only his basic Sharingan to control the Kyuubi, but we only saw one panel of the event and it could simply be an artistic mistake
With that being said though, this only leaves us with six people who had the ability to unlock MS. And we know that Tobi can't obviously be Sasuke or Itachi. But let me explain the problem with him being the other four characters who had MS
Shisui:
This one's pretty obvious IMO, but some people seriously believe that Tobi could still be Shisui. But it was obviously shown that both of his eyes are already destroyed and were not in Tobi's possession. I know it's been implied that Tobi has KA and that he was angry at Kabuto for wanting to resurrect Shisui, but there's just no way it could be him

There's not much to say here either because of the fact that he was crushed by a rock and supposedly killed. But since everything on the base needs to be proven 100% before anyone believes something, I'm not even going to bother. I admit it's not "100%" confirmed that he died, and we'll just have to wait until Tobi's mask comes off to prove it
Madara and Izuna:
Obviously they're both implied to be dead, I won't contest that. But my problem is Madara's EMS. Tobi said that he was the one that gave Nagato the Rinnegan. Put that together with the fact that Madara and Tobi were partners, and that the first thing Madara mentioned after being revived was Nagato, it seems pretty obvious to me that Nagato had Madara's Rinnegan. I don't believe that there's any way that you can be "born" with the Rinnegan even if you are an Uzumaki. So with Madara and Izuna's eyes out of play also, this is my problem with Kishi
Tobi's identity is one of the main plot devices in the manga that really keeps the story going IMO. Everyone wants to see who's under Tobi's mask. But I just think that when it comes to Tobi's identity, were going to get trolled somehow, or Kishi will have to go back on something that he said before. I mean, who do we have left when it comes to a person and a Sharingan that can control the Kyuubi?
A Zetsu Clone? Even though it's implied that Zetsu can't use the techniques of the people he has copied
Madara or Izuna? And then Kishi is stuck explaining how Madara or Izuna has Madara's EMS after it has been implied that Nagato also had Madara's eyes
Obito? And then show us how he survived that massive boulder crushing him, AND explain all of the timeline conflicts
A new character? And then explain how that person got MS, controlled the Kyuubi, and knows everything about Madara's life
Or is it someone else like the elder brother or Kagami? Even though those two characters have gotten hardly any screen time
The entire point that I'm trying to make here is that I believe that one of the main focuses of the manga, Tobi's identity, will somehow be messed up from what was said about Tobi previously or will be the ultimate trolling by Kishi. I hope I'm wrong, but from what we've been shown so far, and what we naturally expect, I don't know if Kishi will be able to pull off Tobi's identity the right way because of our expectations of Tobi and the hype that we've built up around his identity. If he's someone like Madara, I feel that a lot of people will be upset about how something like this won't make any sense even after Kishi tries to justify it
