A few years ago, maybe 4 or 5 or whenever we had like the iphone 3gs.
I said "right now, iphones are the best phones in the world. Because its either 1) you go with an iphone, or 2) buy a different phone, each with its own different os, different app configurations. Iphone got to polish its own features with each phone, and these other phones had a different version of everything with each one.
I said "android is making some momentum. Its pretty crappy now, but as more and more phone developers use android on their phones, they're going to have a more unified ui, and app developers can create apps for android phones easier and there's less fragmentation. Also android has a small app market right now, but in a few years, i think android will be the better platform. I want an iphone at the moment, but soon, android will be king"
And then it happened. I think 2012 is when one could safely make the argument that android became the better platform.
and Now, as we approach the launch of the nexus 6, its become even more painfully obvious that i was right.
It has a quad hd display (better than the 6+), has a considerably larger screen than the 6+, yet the actual phone size is like 1 milimeter bigger (better screen to phone ratio), it has a better build (i like the thickness, i hate how thin these bendable iphones are getting), its got 3 gigs of ram (considerably more than iphone), its got a more flexible os that takes less battery life called android lollipop. Its got a bigger battery than the iphone (yet it charges faster and is removable). It has better implementation of NFC. There is literally NOTHING the iphone does better (this new nexus even has a better price)
Today is a great time to have an android phone. And the sales are reflecting it. I seem more and more androids beeing purchased. I see more people ditching their iphones, and its always wonderful when apple is defeated.
