My Pokemon won't get exp!

Hi, i'm playing Pokemon black on my dsi and I was training my pokemon to level up. One battle my pokemon were gaining exp perfectly fine and then the next and every battle after that they stopped gaining exp. They're only level 12 and up so it's not like I reached my limit. I just get the money for the battle I won and then it goes back to free-mode. I'm in the third town, so I haven't reached any build in limits or anything, it just suddenyl stopped and I don't want to restart ;-; HELP!

1. Check what Item your pokemon has.
2. It might be a bug.
3. Start a new game
