[Question] My place as a member.

I have a question about the site in general and its overall purpose, because I am a little confused about that:

What is this forum for(/the intention of it. A not-too-detailed explanation would suffice, thank you) and where do I stand as a member?

- I know of it being an online discussions forum, but there's always an intention behind it and that differs with the nature of the forum I'm sure, which is essentially what I am asking about, and intention/-s might change with time.

- I also understand the limitations called 'Global Rules', but not entirely how they play into the relationship I, as a member, have towards a moderator, global moderator and administrator, as that confuses me still to this day. What I mean is, what is the intended relationship between us all??

Really appreciate an answer, and if you would, please take into consideration the forum rules when posting in this thread and if you don't know and are unsure, refrain from posting altogether, thank you.

Many things changed over the years on NB but the basic intention remains the same. V never wanted this place to be just about Naruto. He always wanted a place where people that share the same love for anime could hang out online and become friends. He succeeded after tons of work and money for this site. That's why we cherish it and we are very protective over it. There isn't any hidden conspiracy here. You come online, read the manga, watch the anime, discuss, make friends, move on when you are ready. That's all there is, but I admit, this forum is extremely addictive.

All of us, from V to the newest staff additions, put a tremendous amount of work for NB which is hidden from the normal members. There are rules that we follow which are much more restricting than the simple Global Rules and this is all volunteer work. None of us gets paid and some of us have even paid for this forum to be here. No one needs to know this, cause it is no one's business. All we ask in exchange for the hours we spent everyday moderating and administrating is that you follow the rules and you show us the respect that we deserve for being here and making sure that no one is harassing or insulting you. You do not have to be friends with us nor you need to suck up to us. Respect our work and follow the rules. We haven't even made it an obligation to report rules-breaking posts and messages, although it is extremely helpful to us and greatly reduces our work load. As you see, you are not even obliged to help us. Just don't add to the work we have to do anyway.

I am not sure what you are referring to when you talk about 'stuff' you have seen, but as a very clever girl told me yesterday here on NB, you should not be disillusioned. Everyone here is replaceable apart from V. And all these trolls that we chase every day only makes us tired of NB. Someday we will just be sick of this and of people who don't understand that by disrespecting us you are making us wonder if we should be spending our time keeping this forum alive so that ungrateful people can harass us. One day, we will all be sick of this and we will just close this forum. It's up to all you members when that will be.

Finally, I am closing this thread because everyone is gonna come here and say their own thing and just make this conversation hard to follow. It is within your rights to know what is expected of you and how the moderation is taking place on this site, but it's better to pm an admin personally instead of making threads about this. An admin has already told you this, and see, you couldn't even do that.
