You should have posted this earlier. There are ways to swap out the cartridge battery without losing the data.

Its alright. When my pokemon emerald game's battery died It just meant I couldn't grow berries anymore. That could be it.
EDIT: Aye sorry i meant internal clock. Sorry for your loss. That happened when I spilled soda onto my pkmn red. Luckily I bought a new battery and replaced it. There are tons of guides on youtube on how to fix it. Good luck..

Batteries will always die out. The GBA ones were really good tho, my file has like 260 hours on it. And god knows what file number I'm on
