I'm sorry this isn't REALLY fanfic, but KINDA is, so I put it here...
First off, setting: a day or 2 after the war (come on, we know Naruto will defeat Tobi xd ) so that Naruto and Sasuke are in top form
SO, I would...
I would have konohamaru involved by confronting sasuke (maybe have a chapter end with sasuke saying "who's following me?" on his way to konoha and then shockingly show konohamaru)
(we already saw he defeated one pain body alone as a chuunin, while kakashi couldnt do two as a jonin with help... just to compare
not saying kakashi is weak or weaker than konohamaru, but konohamaru definitely has potential is what I mean)
He COULD be awesome, so-so, or sakura-i mean useless- against sasuke, BUT still has to lose.
THEN have sasuke about to defeat him, Naruto savea him.
An AWESOME fight ensues with naruto and sasuke, throughout which Naruto mentions konoharmaru and the new generation must carry the will of fire and that Sasuke should come back several times. sasuke ignores these comments or calls them stupid, showing indifference and hatred.
Then they are both very beaten up and dying (equally matched if you will) and instead of the stupid black-purplish (sometimes rainbow) ball that usually forms from the famous clash: have them clash with rasengan and chidori and have the rasengan obliterate sasuke's heart and chidori stab naruto's heart....
Naruto then tells konohamaru, with a bloody smile, to carry on the will of fire.. both sasuke and naruto collapse and lie down side by side like zabuza and haku.
sasuke admits naruto is stubborn with a smile and coughs up blood. Naruto then comments that he can hopefully finally bring sasuke with him for once in his life (hello, heaven! xd ) to which sasuke responds "we'll see"
at naruto's rainy funeral, everyone comments that naruto was a great ninja and hero...shows kakashi without his mask crying profusely that he failed and that naruto was better than him..... konohamaru cries too...
after that it ends with tsunade talking to kakashi in he office a couple months later. he ifnorms her he wants to train a new student in everything he knows. saying, "who will you choose?"
kakashi replies, "i have an idea" and shows konohamaru standing above the hoakge faces staring off into the distance (naruto had his face honored on the mountain for being like a hoakge in this drawing)
lol how's that? it opens for a new series with konohamaru new characters (like avatar and legend of korra kinda)
