3: Aka morons.

Buuut they got a whole chapter named after them so they’re probably strong.

4: They lasted more than 2 pages.

I’m impressed.

6: I like the way Chopper and Robin look together… a very fitting pair
.
7: Chopper has an awesome personality, he’s the kid of the group always so easily fascinated. I’m sure a lot of us can relate to that when we were younger. It’s always interesting seeing him say stuff like ‘man, that’s so awesome’ or ‘you’re so cool’, cus those had to be my top 2 phrases when I was younger.

And I guess his ‘doctor’ title is now a thing.

8: Looks like troubles a brewin

10: Hate nosy people.

Lmao this guy
Lookin like the 3rd Mario brother

11: I usually hate this side of Nami, but for some reason I like it this time.
Probably because she just caught a guy in his lie.

12: omg

How could they forget he could stretch

13: I just realized something… shouldn’t all their punches just bend through him?

14: Already don’t like this guy.

His nose looks like usopps

15: You know I think it would’ve been cool if Usopp had kind of a square nose now.

And I’d suggest they were related, but the hair is too different.

16: Actually I was wrong. He’s pretty swag.

17: I like that he’s fast. Fitting for a character of his physique.

19: He keeps getting cooler and cooler.

326
2: Why do all the rooftops look like half-targets?

3: Oooh, now I get it. The robot thing that passed her before was cloning her, kind of like Mr. 2, and is turning into them or something.

4: No. This guy is 5x cooler than Usopp.

5: Man, I love the way he moves. It must be awesome just zooming through the city tops at full speed. That’s so cool.

6: Seriously… he just doesn’t look like Usopp… it’s like people mistaking Sonic for Shadow…

7: Nope. Don’t like these guys. I don’t like the way they tracked down all of their information, that makes me mad. That’s none of their business so don’t worry about it. Sheesh.

10: Hope Robin kicks her ****ing ass

11: lol this page made me laugh

But nope I dislike her. Really cant wait to see her get beat up.

12: Actually ehh hes pretty okay I guess. But I don’t like that they had to hound all their information like that.

And I get a feeling he’s interested in… other. Things.

13: They need to get wrecked. They’re no-bounty clowns messing with the big bois. They don’t belong here.

14: Yeah, when I first saw this guy he really looked a lot like Smoker. But less jacked. Glad he’s living up to the design, I like the DF power of ropes. Very creative.

17: Of course, right when I said he’s cool he had to go do something to make me take it back. Nice one.
I’m out for the night, just wanted to drop these 2 off.

Oh, it was hard to tell. Looked like they were shooting from his hands from the angle it was drawn, especially since he gave it a name.

Another thing I've noticed is that the rooftops look like half targets, the bottom half cut off.
Pauli's shirt, however, resembles a full, 100% target. Perhaps this is Oda subliminally capitalizing on their importance to the island, saying that they make the island whole?

2: So I’m just meeting Rob and he seems like cool people. He talks through his pet bird and has good morals. I like him.

3: Just saw Luffy at the bottom of the page.
Who needs sleep anyway, right?

4: The whole time I’m reading this I’m just thinking, who the hell freaking cares? Why are these freaking fodders getting so much damn attention? They’re morons, gosh. Really clowny, annoying ones at that. And I doubt those fools could even take out the weakest of pirates. Idiots.

Man I really hate these guys. Don’t know why.

5: Ahhhhhhh… that changes everything.

Now THAT’S more believable.

That bird is wearing a tie.
Just thought that was worth mentioning.

6: Ooooh, I get it. So the bird is talking, and calling all the shots and everything while the body takes orders.

Guess you could call him a… birdbrain.
Badumtsssssssssssss

7: I like the way Oda is avoiding showing how the topes comes from him, his hand or his sleeve so we can’t tell what he’s doing.

This Rob guy is really cool.

10: Crazy thing is I didn’t even see it coming

11: Seems like the type of guy who would make his daughter wear jumpsuits everyday

13: This island is full of huge places, as soon as you think that’s as big as it gets it gets bigger

14: Yeah I was totally wrong about this guy, he’s really cool.

15: Gotta love that direct approach.

16: Until I see Franky I absolutely refuse to take these ****ing clowns seriously.

18: Woah man, that’s crazy! Even they cant fix it… I seriously didn’t see that coming.

328
2: lol

3: Zoro seems cool.

6: I guess you could say… Oda really knows his ship.
Badumtsssssssssssss

8: It’s that face again.
That I’m about to punch you in the face punch.
Dun do it Loof.

9: Good. He dun do it.

10: Well… he’s honest, I’ll give him that.

I also sense some strong character development coming up for Luffy.

11: then theres this guy

12: Looks like one of those old senior guys.

16: FINALLY NAMI. About time somebody does the smart thing and take that money back to the damn ship.

18: They just signed their death warrants.
It’s pretty much od for them.
They messed with the wrong pirate, Usopp the dude.

But on the other hand, it’s nice to see this side of Nami, caring about her friends.

19: It’s about to happen. But this is a really good page. Hoping this drives Usopp through some permanent character development, and not temporary like back at little garden. And I like Nami’s anger for her friend and sense of determination.

329
2: Emotions are high.

8: …ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?! THESE CLOWNS OF PIRATES LOST THEIR MONEY ALL ON ****ING BETS IN THE PAST! THERES NO SENSE IN ROBBING PEOPLE, GET YOUR OWN DAMN MONEY TO WASTE! THAT MAKES ROBBING PEOPLE USELESS, YOURE TAKING THEIR MONEY TO GIVE TO SOMEBODY ELSE!

..I JUST… I HATE THESE GUYS! SO MUCH! AND I FEEL NO SYMPATHY FOR THEM LOSING BETS!

9: “What was that?”
That’s the booming sound of mr. pirate king coming for your head, mother ****er.

10: OH SHIT! ITS USOPP!
LETS ****IN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

11: Cmon Usopp keep fighting. Even if you don’t win (which… you probably won’t…) it’s the guts that matters.

12: Oooooooooh just you bastards wait.
Luffy is going to take a shit all over you once he gets there.

14: This page was painful to read.

One of the best things I can respect about Usopp is that he was more persistent on yelling ‘give it back’ rather than ‘Luffyyyyyyyy’.

16: lol

17: Wait.. it just hit me… why were those ****tard clowns calling the Strawhats weak… when they got their asses handed to them by one of them in one move?

18: It’s about. To ****ing. Happen.

Wait. Actually I'm so confident Zoro can handle that entire house on his own there may not even be a need for all of them... and it's nice to see Chopper finally rolling with the big boys.

330
2: *sniff sniff* woah hold the phone… *sniff sniff* do… do you guys… smell that? Smells like uhhh…

3: *sniff* wait, it’s coming… smells like… *sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiifffffff*

4: death.

5: Yeah. Okay.
Teach him a lesson, clown.

7: Stupid *****. Get wrecked.

8: Didn’t see your scaredy ass trying to talk it out with Usopp, weakling.

10: Let me see those eyeballs pop.

11: Party Table Kick Course.
Now THAT’S an awesome move.

12: Eh, they could’ve made his move a little more climatic, but he’s getting there.

13: It’s like there’s no room for growth for these guys, they kick ass everywhere they go.

17: Wow... a very mature choice. I'm impressed.

331
4: Where is Robin?

5: Now to see how Usopp reacts.

19: that was.. just...

i mean...

dude.... like

WHEW.... now THAT... was what i call a chapter for real... Oda knows what the hell he's doing for real... ive never felt more in the moment in a manga than that... I could even switch the tabs to update... wow...

But okay Ill try to say what I thought.

-I loved Usopp. He's really grown. He's not a little wanna-be-man anymore as of now, he's officially stepped up and bought all of his troubles to the plate. Leaving going merry, being a pirate, all of it. and in an explosive manner. It was crazy, he seriously stole the spotlight... bravo usopp. You win manga. However I disagree with his remark of luffy leaving behind crew mates one by one, he's never done that before.

Luffy- What can I say, a captains a captain and hes gotta do what hes gotta do. It takes guts calling shots for something like your ship, I know he feels what Usopp was feeling but on varying degrees. I also liked the page where he had to get rough with Usopp and drop him to the ground, that was very dramatic.

I mean think about it this way. Say that wasn't a main character. Say it was a supporting, but very strong, virtuous leader... Whitebeard for example. I haven't seen much of him but I know he's the type to die for his crew. Now as a captain he is, say he was being verbally confronted and outright disrespected by one of his crew. After going back and forth with patient reasoning that he doesn't have to provide, at some point hes gonna have to lay the knuckle on his chin once it gets out of hand. And that's exactly what I feel Luffy had to do. I relate this to Whitebeard to say that I like Oda doesn't just keep Luffy a goody 2 shoes for his crew and then make other captains know when their crew is disrespecting them. I'm also saying this because... I feel like when this chapter first came out, this was the type of situation people would seriously criticize Luffys actions for. Then if this was Whitebeard with somebody on his deck arguing with him and he did the same thing, people wouldve thought 'oh well that's okay I mean he's whitebeard.' But seriously, they take niceness for kindness and just didn't see this coming from Luffy because of how goofy he is. But like Simba said, a leader is strong only when he needs to be, and Luffy is just that. A Captain doing what a Captain has to do. I mean it's like dealing with a child who just won't listen to you. Soon or later you'll have to pop them in the mouth and then they'll finally get it.

Sanji- I dislike that he had to step in and kick Luffy off Usopp. He was disrespecting the captain, and should've let him do what he did. He doesn't quite seem to 100% grasp why Luffy was doing what he was doing.

Zoro- He was very quiet. And I liked that. Shows he wasn't picking sides but remaining neutral and watching them play it out. Very cool of him.

Nami/Chopper- They were alive.
Man that was explosive. Hey guys, I just want to know; what did you think of this chapter?

332
3: Starting off, I already like this chapter. Luffy is remaining the man of action as well as words he's always been, and agreeing to fight it out with Luffy. And every now and then you'll have to block out your subordinates opinion on the subject because hey, not everything is up for debate and sometimes your gonna have to make choices your crew disagrees with. I'm glad Oda is being real about this and not letting Luffy be so easily influenced.

4: Now the whole crew is falling apart, Nami and Chopper are the only ones not in a feud with somebody.

6: man... thats cold...

8: Boldest words I've heard from bread stick nose since I've started reading.
It's happening.

9: >I have 8000 followers
>I have 8000 backup
>I have backup
whelp, there goes his cool points.

I know he's lying anyway, that's what he does.

10: He's not really coughing thats just an act

11: oh snap that was a cough
idgaf still dont feel bad

certain death ketchup usopp
srs
ketchup
srsly srs
wtf was evn the point of that wtf

11: Ketchup and eggs? Usopp, what the ****ing ****?
Do you think this battle is a game?

13: He might as well use certain death plot ball because thats all im seeing.

14: I will count this as his first actual attack.

15: Gas? Weak. From a guy who withstood poison from one of the pirate gods I don't consider gas something strong enough to beat him.

16: Luffy, gomu gomu blast this clown already.
Actually I'm not sure why he hasn't speed blitzed him already.

17: he's mad.
he's clearly mad now.

18: thats pretty... something tbh.
but not sad. something though.

333
2: Oda... I swear if you make Luffy back out of this...

5: THAT I'll give Usopp credit for.

6: ko.
end of battle. good run usopp but gg.

7:
You must be registered for see images
What just a ****ing minute Oda, I see what youre doing.

In any other situation, that GG Pistol would've sent him flying to the next island. But he tanked it with reaction time to reflect with a dial? Doubt. Oda is giving him random power out of nowhere, Usopp can't be this strong and it's pissing me off.

Authors do this all the time. Place a small fry main character against a monster main character and give the little guy random perks and sudden luck like he just had *** with a leprechaun and make him win. Stop this crap.

8: and WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111
LUFFY COULDNT DODGE THAT, WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
SO USOPPS JAB IS FASTER THAN EVERY SINGLE VILLAIN/PROTAGONIST WHO HAS EVER HIT LUFFY?! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Usopps jab/rushyourhandintosomebodysfacewhichcankindofbecalledajab can logically as well as illogically NOT be faster than Crocodiles!!!
PLOT ODA! IM CALLING PLOT!

10: Finally something real.

16: Emotions are high.

19: +Respect for Zoro.

Side notes: Didn't notice I was this type of guy.
When I like a character I'll start to dislike anybody who opposes or stands up to them, villains excluded since thats inevitable. But with somebody like Luffy, it really hit me hard this time... but don't think that this makes a fanboy or anything, I can still admit to when a character can beat him or something. But for the most part I feel like Luffy could've really dodged a lot of those attacks, (prime example being an egg), and speed blitzed him at any moment earlier if he wanted to.

Usopp... I don't know man. I'm having mixed feelings right now about him and Oda's choice of mercy and making him a sudden 'superman' for this fight didn't help. If he had came in the battle like he normally does and just fought the best he could with no sudden boosts or random acts of intelligence that he really could've shown before that would've been useful in battle, I'd have still held my opinion on him being cool. But I hate acts of power mercy like this.

Still this fight was damned good. No denying that.
The plot was heavy but it was still good.

334
8: Well gang! Looks like we got a mystery on our hands!

11: Prediction.
They suspect it's the strawhats, they fight, things are solved, they kill franky and buy a boat.

12: Zoro is slowly becoming 'that dude'. I like personality, that he'd rather watch everything happen from the outside than partake in it, and only get involved when it concerns him.
That's manly.

14: Is Ron his closest Carpenter friend? Why is he the only one there

17: lol

18: You're butt buddies got their asses beat, that's what.

I'm out for the night.

I'm on break for the next 3 chapters.

srsly srs
wtf was evn the point of that wtf

Ok first thing I want to comment on is why Sanji kicked Luffy. Sanji knew what he was going to say and stopped him before Luffy would regret the words he was going to say in the heat of the moment. We all do it. We get heated up in an argument and one says something they can't take back. Sanji was trying to prevent this from happening. Of course it was too late and the end result is what you saw at the end of ch 333.

Next, it doesn't seem you like Usopp's fighting style. Note He had an entire day planing out how to beat Luffy(prep).Every attack Usopp did wasn't wasted.

The fake blood or ketchup was used because Luffy would take pity on a friend, this allowed Usopp to use the flash dial to blind him so he could set up the breath dials while Luffy couldn't see and use the eggs on him to block his smell. It looks childish but it is brilliant when you think about it. Usopp is a weak character but a powerful mind. He planned every move before making them.

Eggs caused luufy to stop breathing from his nose so Luffy had to breath through his mouth so he wouldn't smell the rotten eggs, this allowed the tobasco star an opening into his mouth. Another distraction move so Usopp could lay the caltrops.

Another comment you made was why didn't Luffy just speed blitz Usopp. He couldn't without getting hurt from where you step.

Not to mention Usopp was controlling the entire fight. Some of the moves he used here also seems like an asspull as you said. Remember Usopp had an entire afternoon being able to get these items to prepare and use them against Luffy. This is the power of allowing a smart enemy like Usopp time to prepare against Luffy with full knowledge.

Now with the shrunken luring Luffy in right position, Usopp hits him with the fire gas combo hurting Luffy. This is the damage fire can do to a rubber man.

Now with Luffy weakened, Usopp thought he could be beaten.

To explain the GG Pistol, Luffy was injured, + Luffy knows not to use his full power on a friend. This is why Usopp wasn't sent flying and wasn't knocked out from it. My guess, without calling it plot, would be Luffy knew how hard to hit Usopp, but misjudged how strong the attack was because of him being weakened.

Now your last comment about how Luffy should have dodged that. Luffy was mid air and just landed when Usopp impacted Luffy. There was no time to dodge. Notice where luffys feet and hand is positioned when Usopp sticks his hand out on the previous page.

Now with that out of the way, yes, this fight leads to HUGE character development for Luffy and Usopp. It was an amazing turn of events. We go from the normal sequence we have grown accustom to, to friends fighting each other because of their beliefs. The funny thing is, this was just the tip of the iceberg. You have seen nothing from this arc yet. It only gets better.

Lastly, what did you think of the ending? Luffy's one word "Heavy," and how Zoro responds with that's the burden of a captain.

I feel this was the turning point for Luffy where he realized being a pirate wasn't just fun and games. He has to make tough decisions.

So how you liking this arc so far?

Please tell me you are reading the next 2 chapters as I write this. I so want to see your reaction to those.

Edit: Looks like you did.

Yeah but like you said at the end of your post, a pirate isn't all fun and games and has to make tough decisions. Kicking out a crew mate for disrespecting the captain seems like a reasonable decision to me, but then again, everybody has strong feelings for everybody since the team is so small so I understand.

But no matter how you chop it up, a subordinate attacking his Captain for a serious matter instead of comic relief is just no.

Next, it doesn't seem you like Usopp's fighting style. Note He had an entire day planing out how to beat Luffy(prep).Every attack Usopp did wasn't wasted.
Nah dude it's not even that I don't like it. I get that now he decides to be smart, for like the first time. I get that he's tactical and can plan ahead. But what I don't get is why he's never done this before, except for in the Arlong arc. Every other time a main fighter could've used help or assistance his brain was nowhere to be found, and smart people who are truly smart are threats both with prep time, but also in the heat of a battle, having to improvise. Luffy has done this numerous times (thought of a tactic/plan in the middle of a fight), but Usopp has only done it maybe once, MAYBE once.

But now that he has prep time, he can defeat a man who handled a Pirate God? I don't see it.

The fake blood or ketchup was used because Luffy would take pity on a friend, this allowed Usopp to use the flash dial to blind him so he could set up the breath dials while Luffy couldn't see and use the eggs on him to block his smell. Yeah but that's what jumping is for.

Just looked back at the page.

Luffy had one foot well planted on the ground. He could've used that to hop to the side just like he did with Foxy's flying eagle bomb thing. Or he could just bended his neck and back to get out of the way.

And about the egg; do you really think that egg hitting Luffy was fair? Can Luffy really react to a hit from Kuro, at top blinding speed, but not an egg Usopp shoots at him through a sling shot? And the same way he tolerated pain before without batting an eyelash, he could've picked up those little spike balls and through them right back at Usopp. It baffles me how those first rate Halloween tricks really got to Luffy like that. It's like in Sonic 3 where Knuckles popped out of the ground and narly knocked out a flying Super Sonic at full speed, and the Emeralds, something a final boss from Eggman couldn't even do.

This is what I'm liking. No matter how good or bad the ma have been, the character development was strong. But once again, I'm hoping it's permanent this time and not temporary like that boost of energy Usopp get from Little Garden.

Lastly, what did you think of the ending? Luffy's one word "Heavy," and how Zoro responds with that's the burden of a captain.
That, was a powerful line. Said a lot and was the best way a character could communicate how he was feeling through just one word rather than a full dialogue. 10/10.

Ok so I WAS on break but this is a huge chapter, since Luffys next crew mate just got introduced (I've seen him in so many peoples sigs it's not even funny). So I'll just do one for this chapter and the next 3 I'm off and will review the fight.

336
4: Luffy said he won't stop until he sends him flying with a kick, so we know how this'll end.

And I'm calling it. He probably has music powers, or wind or something so he's charging up a scream and about to yell.

5: ...Not sure if that's wind, or fire... but probably wind...

6: Ahh, fire. But isn't that Ace's thing?

I get it. So he's a magician since it's obvi not DF or he would drown, and that fire breathing was just a trick.

8: A robot magician... kewl...

10: Omg, a cyborg. I feel so dumb. I should have known since he had those screws in his nose...
But still that's AWESOME.

But he already knew she was part of their crew.

14: I like characters who are able to rise above the situation and think more open mindedly about situations. Like how everybody is saying it was because they couldn't repair his ship, but his reasoning leads him to believe it's not. Those characters are always cool.

15: If I had a nickle for every time I heard that

17: Btw I think I figured out what happened to Robin and the robot thing.
It has the power to transport through things or something, which is how it phased through the door, like a phantom. Would also explain how it disappeared form Sanji's sight. And I don't know why Robin is with her since she was obviously startled by her (which make me think she doesn't know her) unless it was the one guy who can hypnotize her in disguise and got her to do that. Then she followed her to Icebergs room and framed the Strawhats for it.

Now this, I'm completely confident in.

And now what's happening is the carpenters are about to fight with the Luffy and Franky. That'll force them to team up then after all this they'll have a dialogue, become friends and he'll fix their ship.

341. Time flew by.
4: I'm really digging Zoro's neutrality.

Suspense is really building up.

6: Btw I'm theorizing that she's operating under gov't orders while they're blackmailing her at the same time.

8: Admiring Usopps spirit atm.
You go Usopp.

9: That guy is really cool. It's awesome meeting people like him irl.

13: Hmmmm I like Franky. Need to see more of him.

15: Their town is full of liars.

17: nothing weird about that

18: Is Robins name known all across grand line?

19: its about to happen

4: wow
so sinister

Extremely suspenseful. I think this arcs main objective is testing and pushing Luffy's strategy and Captain skills to the max, even though there will be more challenges to come. My favorite characters are

1) Luffy
2) Zoro
3) The guy with the square Usopp nose.
4) Iceberg
5) Franky

And I have a feeling Sanji is about to do something that'll put him up there, so I'm keeping a close eye on him. Frankys cyborg gig is really unique as well, not very often you see robots in animu anymore, so that was a nice change in pace. I'm interested in seeing what he offers to the crew and how he grows after the time skip.

A personal problem I'm having is back since they first recruited Vivi, I considered the entire time she was with them part of the Alabarna arc. And that arc was sooo long that I've been setting the standard that high for all of the other arcs, and I end up disappointing myself when they aren't. I need to start getting used to 50 chapter arcs.

Overall it's a great arc. Can't think of anything bad about it. As always, Oda is exceeding expectations for storytelling.

Well if you set the bar based upon Alabasta then you won't be disappointed with this one. You've pretty much got most of it right in terms of the point of the arc. But not all of it.

Keep reading! Bro ; I love reading your reactions.
