This is basically the rough draft of a 6 minute speech I am giving in my college Public Speaking class! I know I use their names a few too many times, but other than that what do you NBers think?

Title of Speech: Never go Back on Your Word
Specific Purpose: My audience will understand that Naruto is an Inspiring Series.
Thesis: Naruto is an inspiring series about growing up, the challenges faced along the way, and fighting for true friendship.
Introduction:
I. Attention Getter
Imagine having no parents, no friends, and everyone in your town hates you for something that you didn't even do. Well this is the situation a young boy named Naruto was faced with. Despite all the negative in his life he would always say that he doesn't run away or go back on his word. Even with all of the odds against him, Naruto never gave up.
II. Audience Relevance Link
Although Naruto is a fictional anime character we can all learn something from his struggle. Life always brings turmoil. We've all had hardships in our lives, but just being in this classroom today shows that we have persevered.
III. Credibility
The series written by Masashi Kishimoto entitled "Naruto" began in 1999. I have been following the series since 2003. I have personally watched Naruto get knocked down a countless number of times, but he never stays on the ground. Through my 10 years of following his story I have never seen him be mentally defeated.
IV. Thesis
Naruto is an inspiring series about growing up, the challenges faced along the way, and fighting for true friendship that everyone can relate to.

I will discuss how Naruto defied all of the odds while he became a teenager as well as the strong opponents he battled and the friend he struggled to regain.
Transition:
Naruto had only one goal in life, to become Hokage, which is the leadership position in his village. Naruto wanted everyone to acknowledge his existence. He wasn't a very talented ninja and it took him over 3 years to graduate from his academy. Most of the other children graduated in one.
Body
I. Naruto had a terrible childhood filled with loneliness and a longing for meaning.
A.Naruto was the son of the fourth Hokage. He should have been treated with great respect as a child, but because his father died fighting a monster that attacked the village Naruto never knew his heritage. The fourth Hokage was forced to seal the monster inside of Naruto while he was a baby, to protect the village from its wrath. Everyone in the village swore never to tell him this secret. They all directed their hatred for the beast on him. A woman going by the name Alia expanded upon this in a synopsis on her website written in 2002 (Alia, 2013)
B. Naruto became a village prankster to gain attention because of the lack of love he was receiving. This made everyone dislike him even more, but Naruto always kept a nonchalant attitude.
C. One day an older ninja took advantage of Naruto and forced him to steal a sacred scroll. The ninja revealed to Naruto that he was actually the monster fox that killed many villagers when it attacked. Naruto was devastated and shocked when he learned this. Just as the bad ninja was about to kill him Naruto's Sensei jumped in front of the attack and was severely wounded. Naruto saw that his Sensei truly loved him and his rage gave him the strength to defeat the opposing ninja.
D. Naruto officially became a ninja with that act, and soon after he adopted his motto "I don't run away, and I never go back on my word". He first said this in chapter 103 written by Masashi Kishimoto. (Kishimoto, 2006)
Transition: This motto sounded great, but it did not save him from the many beatings he received while he was on missions with his team.
II. Naruto faced many challenges as a young ninja, and was almost killed several times. Through all of the hardships he faced Naruto never gave up. He always fought to protect his teammates Sakura, Sasuke, and Kakashi.
A. When Naruto became a ninja and was placed in a 4 person team he had finally found himself. He felt like he belonged to something important.
B. His team leader Kakashi treated him as a real person, and not a monster. Sasuke faced terrible hardships as a child also, and so he was someone that Naruto could relate to. Sasuke became Naruto's biggest rival. Sakura was Naruto's crush. He would always attempt to impress her to win her love, but she was too interested in Sasuke. In an interview with Masashi Kishimoto in 2006 he explained Naruto's early team relationship. (Daisuke, 2006)
C. On Naruto's first big mission his team encountered two powerful ninja who even outclassed Naruto's team leader. Things were not looking good as Sasuke appeared to have been killed. Naruto was bleeding out when he became so enraged that some of the monster's power came out of him. He saved Sasuke and almost killed one of the enemies. After that experience Naruto's team was truly bonded. They all helped each other and none of them would have survived without teamwork.
Transition: Although their team was very close Naruto could not stop the hatred that Sasuke felt towards his sibling.
III. Naruto gained many friends in his village when he became a ninja. Some of them began as enemies but changed when they understood Naruto, however Naruto's best friend was overwhelmed with hatred.
A. Sasuke had only one goal in life as a young ninja, to kill his older brother. This is revealed by Masashi Kishimoto very early in chapter 4. (Kishimoto) When Sasuke was 7 years old his brother Itachi slaughtered his entire clan, but spared Sasuke's life. Sasuke began searching for power, and would do whatever it took to gain the strength he needed.
B. Naruto tried to rescue Sasuke when he left the village to train with an evil man. Naruto swore to Sakura that he would bring Sasuke back no matter what.
C. Naruto fought Sasuke and told him he would drag him back to the village with broken bones if he had to. In the end Sasuke barely managed to defeat Naruto and stumbled away. From that day on Naruto trained to become stronger so he could end Sasuke's hatred and regain his best friend.
D. Sasuke told him how much he hated everything that he stood for the next time they encountered each other, but that didn't stop Naruto. He just smiled and said none of that mattered because they were still friends.
E. When Sasuke learned the truth about his brother, and realized that his murders were actually to protect the village he decided to fight alongside Naruto and help his village once more. The series is nearing its end now and Naruto and Sasuke have become friendly rivals again. Masashi Kishimoto explained Sasuke's motives in a 2012 interview. (Kido, 2012)
Transition: Naruto never gave up through all of his years of loneliness and it paid off. He regained his best friend, became powerful, and was acknowledged by everyone in the entire ninja world.
Conclusion
I. Review Main Points
Naruto faced adversity while growing up, but that did not stop him from overcoming his challenges and gaining friends along the way.
II. Restate Thesis
Naruto is a series that can inspire anyone growing up, while teaching them how to overcome challenges, and fight for the people they truly care for.
III. Decisive Closing
Naruto has shown me that if I never give up or go back on my word I can achieve great accomplishments.
