i have an asus k43sj laptop and it used to be SUPER FAST but now its slow as a snail. its so slow, it runs youtube videos in slow motion, it's like the video i'm watching was edited to go slower - like slow motion slow. listening to music on sound cloud does the same, the music runs in super slow motion to the point that the sound playing is hurting my ears. typing on google search is slow too; i already finished typing what i'm trying to search for and the text i wrote hasn't appeared on the screen yet. the word will appear on screen a letter per second.

whats the problem with this laptop? i use to be able to play ps2 games in this running 60 fps. now its like 4 fps!

my laptop has windows 7 os

help?!

Sounds like you are using too much ram and are also running out of space.

Probably accumulated a minor virus or two over time.

I would recommend cleaning it or back up all your important files and wipe it clean
i think viruses keep on sneaking on my computer
everytime i look deep into the OS, I see files that have weird names

when i delete those files, my computer slightly goes faster

how do i clean it? and how do i clear my ram? i don't want to reformat it cuz i already did that a year ago. im using a good anti virus i doubt it has avirus.
stop downloading porn jk
but you've probably downloaded too much stuff on it
this was my sister's laptop back when she was in canada. i doubt she downloads porn in it.

she does download a lot of stuff. but we reformatted it a year ago.

Go download Malware Bytes and scan for malware. Also download WinDerStat and look what is eating up all your space. You likely have to many background processes and you need to see what is eating up your Ram. Check and see what viruses you have with either your anti virus system or Malware Bytes. I recommend using Malware Bytes because it picks up stuff that the regular thing wont.

What I would do first and foremost is download CCleaner and run that, probably be best with mostly everything ticked, if not definitely everything.

After that, I would do a Virus scan with whatever software you have, or download Avast, or Malware Bytes and run a full system scan with either of those.

After that go into any internet browsers and clear the history/cache (Though this can be done from inside CCleaner if you select it).

After this, go into installed programs and remove any unnecessary programs.

Move downloads and whatever doesn't really need to be on there off the Hard-drive and onto external storage.

If the storage device in the laptop is not a Solid-State Drive, run a Disk De-fragmenting program.

Hope this helps. :)

You have probably stuffed your hard disk too much, you need to free up some space, especially in the drive in which windows is installed.
Or you may have some random programs running in background and eating up your RAM, CLEAR IT NOW!

Btw, if you have low RAM, I recommend you to use Firefox, rather than Chrome, if you do so.

hey, i checked my local disc c (the drive where my windows is installed) and it said ''38.6 GB free of 115 GB''. is that the reason why my laptop is so slow now? never stored files in my local disc d (75.6 GB free) and local disc e (233 GB free).

and once again, i doubt it's a virus, because if it had one, it would've corrupted the files stored inside my hdd hard drive. just like how my brother's pc corrupted my psp's mmc that one time i plugged it on and his pc had a virus.

You probably have a virus/corrupted batch file which eats up your C drive, this also impacts performance, or your page file is being used rapidly due to the ram being full, Logfiles corrupted. This can prolly spikes up your CPU usage (open ur task manager and see what ur idle CPU usage reading are) if they seem high, you might want to create a backup and do a fresh OS install, especially if there is a system batch file error.

Yeah, that is quite high, with those programs open it should be around 14% at most (depending on ur processor ofc). Like the above user said, check the processess and see the program that is using the most CPU resources.

Click on the Processes part. See what's there.

there were 65 processes in total. im not going to type them all ofc, im not quite sure what all 65 do, but the one i find weird is i have 13 or maybe 15 svchost.exe processes running. what are those?

the Svchost is windows dynamiclibraries and are separated. Failure in one or a corrupted one cause cause system instability and performance problems, they usually keep spiking. And No you don't need to mention them only the cpu usage.

You must be registered for see images

You see the CPU tag? I want you to scroll down the resource monitor and mention the one giving you the highest CPU reading.

Those seem alright. Where does the green line rest? It shouldn't fill half of the box. Also click on the memory tag and tell me how much is available. This seems like a case where your registry/batch is corrupted and making your CPU carry unnecessary load and filing your hard drive, The best method here is you do a fresh OS install (if you have a windows disk) it takes around 15-20 minutes. You can ask someone to do it for you if you're unsure.

i think the problem was i didn't have a battery inserted in my laptop's battery compartment. i inserted one in and now it's working fast for some reason.

Exactly this. CCleaner has always been the first thing to use for me. Then I use Malware Bytes to check virus scans and eliminate them. Uninstalling unneeded programs definitely helps.

I would add running Disk Clean Up as well to clean up temporary files and all that junk.
