The mmorpg takes place after the events of the Boruto movie, where the ninja world is now at peace and all the villages are united. However, a newly approaching alien species with unique alien dojutsu and kekkai genkai like the Otsutsuki threatens this peace and the shinobi forces must banned together and fight the sadistic war mongering alien shinobi. Before that however, characters will wander the world doing ninja missions from the lowest ranks to the highest ranks, which will send them all over the ninja world to even never before seen places. Players start by choosing from the 5 ninja villages, then designing a young shinobi (who will grow older as they level up) whos appearance corresponds to which village they chose to begin at. Different villages also have different clans to choose from, and depending on what clan you choose will determine the stats for different nature affinities and the like and specialty ninjutsu like Nara clan with their shadows or the Uchiha clan with the sharingan (mangekyo unlocks at an extremely high level as to avoid being OP). After choosing a clan, you choose a basic role, healer, DPS, or the bulkier tank class. Certain clans like the Akamichi clan will only have 1 available role, like the tank, and some clans will lack certain roles, but excel at others. But it doesn't end there, not only do you get access to your clan's special ninjutsu skill tree, and your nature affinities skill tree, but from there on you get to build you own character by visiting various teachers!
You can't just learn everything, for example, if you're a tank or dps, you can choose to train under the Toads or the Snakes and unlock those sage jutsu and get a toad or snake mount and summon, but you can only choose to train under 1. Healers can only train under the slug sage out of the 3 known sages but there would be more animal sages to train under if you so please. You can only train under 1 unique sensei and 1 unique mount/summon/mode affiliation and learn their special exclusive jutsus, so if you train under the Hokage Naruto, you will learn rasengan and eventually its varients as well as shadow clones. If you train under Sasuke you will learn chidori and its varients and special genjutsu skills. All Uchiha can train under Sasuke in the end game to perfect their mangekyo sharingan skills. In other villages there will be new characters (designed by Kishimoto) who will serve as unique senseis, for example new members of the 7 swordsmen will have their own ninjutsu school for Hidden Mist players to learn advanced swordsman skills.
All players begin in the academies of their respective villages where they undergo the starting tutorial and face off in their first pvp battles. Later, players will have to participate in the chunnin exams to level up, which will involve pvp instances and tournaments.
High level players may even defect into a newly created Akatsuki, dawning the famous Akatsuki cloak and doing evil akatsuki mercenary missions and being able to attack players of similar level in non safe areas. However, members of the Akatsuki can no longer visit the villages in non pvp worlds.
Eventually, you have created your own awesome personalized ninja. You have your starting nature affinity with the basic jutsus you get from it, your second one that you learn later on and the kenkai genkai jutsus created when you combine those elements, you have your class and your clans special bloodline limits or exclusive jutsus that come with that class (and basic medical skills if you chose healer), then you have your 2 different senseis that you chose to learn exclusive skills, mounts, and summons from. The more you level up the more you unlock from these skill trees and the more complex your battle strategies and how you use your various skills in conjunction with one another become.
Some possible senseis for jutsus are Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Gaara, Temari, Shikimaru, Kiba, Sai, Shino, Chojuro, etc.
Some possible senseis for summons, forms, and mounts could be Snake Sage (Dragon Form, Snake summons and mounts, snake jutsus), Toad Sage (sage mode, toad summons and mounts, snake jutsu), Slug Sage (regeneration seal, Slug summons and mounts, slug healing jutsus and acid), you can also train under Kankuro for powerful and diverse puppet summons or even turn yourself into a living puppet like Sasori did (for a price), you can train under jinchurikis like Bee and get a fraction of the bijuu's power to enter pseudo jinchuriki forms and level up until you can use pseudo chakra modes and summon mini version of the bijuu you chose to use a fighting partner or ride them as mounts. The bug bijuu would let you eventually sprout insect wings and hover slightly above the ground as swift speeds. Basic shinobi skills include ninja tool usages like paper bombs and shuriken, transformation jutsus which are useful for camouflage in large scale pvp, substitution jutsus, body flicker technique, running parallel and upside down on various world objects like trees, guided jumping through tree branches, guided parkour, and basic kunai parrying skills. Items available for purchase would be various ninja weapons and scrolls such as reverse summoning scrolls to return to the village or scrolls to seal defeated edo tensei enemies in raids. Yes, there will be raids with edo tensei enemies and the last boss battle will be the caster of the edo tensei who must be stopped.
Basically it would be the coolest game ever, with real time combat full of tactics and unique abilities, and really in depth character class customization options. large scale pvp war would also be awesome, setting traps, hiding with transformation jutsu and ambushing enemy squadrons. People can join a pvp battle even at low levels, as children they'll be placed in cells with a jounin commander, the won't be able to stray too far from the group forcing the squad to work together to help their team win the war.
