Okay obviously this arc or anything remotely similar to this is not possible in the manga at this point. I would just like to make it clear that this is something that could have been cool, not a suggestion for a future arc.
This arc would take place towards the end of the Kage Summit Arc, and in it Danzo never fought Sasuke at the Samurai Bridge, resulting in a power struggle between Danzo and Tsunade. I've thought it through and this is how I would have wanted it to go. Here is a rough outline of it:
If I develop this idea thoroughly enough, I might make a fanfiction =D
This arc would take place towards the end of the Kage Summit Arc, and in it Danzo never fought Sasuke at the Samurai Bridge, resulting in a power struggle between Danzo and Tsunade. I've thought it through and this is how I would have wanted it to go. Here is a rough outline of it:
-Sasuke gets too exhausted from battling 4 kage to continue fighting any longer, and so Danzo returns safely to Konoha
-The other kage realize what a threat "Madara" is and decided to form a shinobi alliance; however, they agree that Danzo is too untrustworthy to include Konoha in the alliance. Danzo uses KA to control the feudal lord of the Land of Fire to force them to approve of him as hokage, this means he can't KA anyone else as long as he's controlling the feudal lord
-Naruto gets shipped off to Turtle Island against Danzo's wishes: Danzo wants to control the Kyubi and keep Naruto in a jail cell, but Kakashi and friends (K11) manage to sneak Naruto off to Turtle Island for training. Reason I want Naruto out of the picture is because I don't want him to be KA'd and controlled by Danzo, also it makes things less complicated
-Tsunade comes out of her coma, but Danzo puts a warrant out for her arrest under false charges of "treason" so she has to go into hiding with Shizune. Sakura is the only person who knows her whereabouts but she must keep it a secret. Danzo suspects Sakura knows, so he has Ibiki interrogate her while he watches. This is some great character development for Sakura since she must undergo a torture sesh for the village's sake
she doesn't spill the beans though and recovers with medical ninjutsu
-A power struggle emerges between people who want Tsunade as hokage (most of the village, heads of the Konoha clans, K11, Jonin council, etc.) and Danzo's supporters (Root). Danzo is officially the Hokage and forbids anyone to speak out against him, but an underground movement begins to reinstate Tsunade as Hokage.
-Sai is torn between his loyalties for Danzo and for Konoha and we actually get to see a lot of character development for him as well as the rest of the K11. K11 is mad at Sai for not sharing intel with them on Root, but he explains his tongue seal. Still, few trust Sai and he feels isolated again and only Sakura and Kakashi accept him
-The underground movement finally becomes organized and the Tsunade supporters plan on storming Root HQ and defeating Danzo. However...
-Sasuke is finally ready to fight Danzo. Obito teleports him and Karin into Root HQ (bypassing Konoha's barrier) and Sasuke searches for a bit and finally finds him. Then the battle ensues (battle location is also really cool, deep underground Konoha). At the same time, the Tsunade supporters are amassing at Root's door
-Basically the same battle happens, and Danzo gets killed at Sasuke's hands. Danzo's suicide technique destroys the location, and a massive cave-in occurs. Sasuke survives, of course, but there's a monumental scene at the end of the battle with a half-blind Sasuke standing over Danzo's dead body as the cave-in reveals to the Jonin, K11, Konoha clans, and all the Tsunade supporters looking and seeing that Sasuke had beaten them to it. Kakashi (or Sakura or someone lol who cares) steps forward and asks something like "Sasuke! Why are you here! Why did you kill Danzo?!" and Sasuke looks around at everyone and says "I'm going to kill each and every one of you for what you did to my clan." Then Obito says "Sasuke, at your current power you cannot take them all." Obito teleports himself and Sasuke out of the village and back to the hideout, at which point Sasuke says "I want Itachi's eyes, I need an Eternal MS to take down Konoha."
