I was in Libya six years ago. Living standards seemed to be just as good or even better than in my country, Poland. Granted, Poland is not the most welathy of the european countries, but living standard here is still waaaaay better than in most african countries.

OT: Libya will get divided, i don't know all much but that is how i feel. The artificial borders in MENA is a remaining problem as they put masses of conflicting people together. I do not believe that division after division is a permenant solution and concept of 'nation state' is ethical or ideal but i foresee an even more divided region in close future.
