No, that happened much later. Christians were opressed at the time. Peter was going to be executed. He said that he would rather be crusified upside down rather then the way Jesus.

He was one of Jesus's 12 apostles. He was the financial manager I believe? Anyway, he betrayed Jesus for the same amount of money a slave costs. He said that the one he greets and kisses is Jesus. That's how he signaled for the Romans to arrest Jesus.

I'm surprised that you wouldn't know who he is. He's one of, if not the most influential traitor in history. He's been in great literary works like Dante's Inferno, where in hell he's at the bottom level and receives the most severe punishment. This labels him as the worst traitor included in the book along with Brutus from Julius Ceaser.
