I was just thinking. As awesome as it was, when ichigo used the final getsugatensho against aizen, the only reason that happened was plot. He could have stayed in his current state and defeated aizen with ease, and then keep his spiritual pressure. But if he didn't lose it he would remain far too powerful for the series. Just a thought.

If Aizen could regenerate from his strongest attack, How would he kill him in his weaker state?

Aizen can't die, but ichigo would have been able to wound him enough to make uraharas kido take effect. He was toying with him up until mugetsu. He would have been able to wreck him if he fought seriously.

Ichigo is going to be stronger now that he unlocks his true shinigami powers. The power he used to beat Aizen were his dampened Quincy powers, also if he hadn't lost his powers there would be no set up for this last arc.

Yeah I agree, it definitely wasn't necessary as overpowered as ichigo is. It was still nice though.

Wrong, Aizen would've kept evolving. And then became stronger than Ichigo.

Here is your answer.

Ichigo's form could have never weakened Aizen enough without Mugetsu. Aizen would have kept getting stronger and stronger. He needed to end things swiftly, with one move

Naw he would have not been able to weaken aizen without mugetsu..no matter what he would have done aizen would have kept evolving so he used mugetsu that still really did not work ether..plus he did not know about urahara's kido so how would he know to only just weaking aizen would get him the win?

I see your point but I disagree. At that level aizen couldn't even sense ichigo. Ichigo was at a dimension above aizens. He could have finished aizen without mugetsu, as cool as it was. And his goal would have been to kill, just like mugetsu, however it would have ended in the activation of uraharas kido.

Nope the more time he fights the stronger aizen gets he had no way of weakening aizen the way he did if it weren't for mugetsu and you saw how fast aizen got up after that.

IMO it started being a asspull from the moment Aizen showed he fused with the hougyukou. It all just went downhill, the explanation of the hougyukou true nature was stupid, OP and barely a explanation, every badass strong character couldnt do shit against him, they all got cut down (but none died, asspull), his single injury was recovered, but out of the blue Ichigo (who should be weak compared to most of those guys) got a huuuuge power up that enabled him to defeat god-like Aizen. Why couldnt the gotei put up a good fight, get beaten while doing some damaged, and then Ichigo with a minor power up finish the job, that would be more plausible. Although I have to admit that from an artistic POV It was pretty awsome

The hogyoku was not an asspull..aizen said he was not going to kill any of them he wants them to see him become the next soul king...ichigo is the main character of course he's going to get a major power up he's a hollow/soul reaper//Quincy he's bound to be strong as hell.
