We know Mu and Onoki as being the two users of the kekkei tota known as jinton, or dust release. There are some theories I have regarding the two Tsuchikages' abilities.

1 - How did Mu teach Onoki the Dust Release? We know that Mu (the second Tsuchikage) was Onoki's master and taught him how to use jinton. . However, how can Mu teach his student a kekkei genkai, much less a kekkei tota? There is a bloodline limit to this type of nature affinity and it would seem like an extraordinary and unlikely coincidence if Onoki and Mu just happened to both have a kekkei tota - much less the same kekkei tota. We could perhaps speculate that Mu was Onoki's father (although this was never stated) and that Mu's nature affinities were passed down to Onoki. If this is the case, then my next question arises.

2 - Why didn't Mu teach Onoki his other abilities? Onoki has not shown any of Mu's abilities except jinton and flying. Why didn't Mu pass on his other abilities like invisibility, sensing, and fission? The only conclusion I can arrive at is that Onoki was incapable of learning these techniques - which is strange, seeing as how he was able to perfect jinton. Also, Onoki was capable of either inventing or learning advanced techniques like weighted boulder or lightened boulder, but he was incapable of learning Mu's techniques.

3 - Why was Mu's power halved? When Mu uses his fission jutsu and splits in two, his power becomes halved . But with an Edo Tensei body and infinite chakra, shouldn't that downside not have affected him? Perhaps he was talking about "power" in different terms than just chakra?

4 - Can Mu and Onoki use other KKG like lava release? Since they both can combine the nature elements of earth, fire, and wind, can they also combine just earth + fire, or earth + wind, or wind + fire? Why haven't they shown any feats of other KKG, or even other elements like wind or fire?

Post your thoughts guys.

Plot, I dont think Kishi would elaborate on irrelevance at this point in time.

I already said before if Muu and Onoki aren't father and son, they are at least certainly from the same clan/ family line because everyone is born with 1 chakra nature but the capacity to learn others. That 1 nature is called your affinity. Rare ninjas are born with 2 affinities and they can combine them for a a blood line limit (Wood, Explosion, Storm). Now being born with 3 affinities is what allows them to use dust style. What are the odds of Onoki and Muu both being born with Fire Wind Earth affinities? They have to be relatives somehow.

Personally I think they are related, mabey not directly but atleast distantly. The kekkei tota may be ressesive and only appear every now and again. Notice mokuton hasn't shown itself naturally after hashirama and he had decendants.

As for onoki not learning mu's other techs. He could just not have the talent for them. Kekkei genkai and kekkei tota aren't born of talent or genius, but of genetics. Mabey he dosent have sufficient chakra or chakra control. Its also possible he just found them distasteful and had no interest in learning them. Mu's untimely death may have also played a hand in him not learning theses techs.

Just my thoughts on the matter

It's open to interpretation. They may have been relatives, Mu may have given him a transfusion like Orochimaru did with Hashirama's cells to Yamato and Madara did with himself.

Perhaps it is like Yamato, and Ooniki couldn't bring his techniques to the same level as Mu. Perhaps Mu died before he could teach Oonoki everything about the dust release. This, or perhaps you need high expertise in all three elements the dust release is composed of in order to reach its full potential.

3 - Why was Mu's power halved? When Mu uses his fission jutsu and splits in two, his. But with an Edo Tensei body and infinite chakra, shouldn't that downside not have affected him? Perhaps he was talking about "power" in different terms than just chakra?

I'm not sure. Edo Tensei is still a wonderkind jutsu, as is the dust release. Perhaps it divided his soul or something lols. Dust release comes off as possibly possessing space/time properties as well since it encompasses sub atomic particle manipulation. Itachi was an edo tensei yet he still went blind from casting Izanami.

Well just because you possess the elements that make up certain kekkei Genkis doesn't mean you can perform them lols. As it's stated, its a bloodline limit passed down through the genes of a clan or family. Kakashi possesses earth and water release, but he can't perform mokuton lols.

But if Mu and Onoki are related, why doesn't Onoki's son (Kitsuchi) or his granddaughter (Kurotsuchi) have the Dust Release?

Because it doesnt pass down to everybody obviously... There are dominant and recessive genes.
