my theory is that the ms eye designs get recycled depending on what ms powers you obtain, we only saw indra use amaterasu which is sasukes ms ability. i believe what design and power you get are all random but the design and power always match up.
ie. if you get kumai you get obitos design, if you get limbo you get madaras, if you get advanced tsukiyomi you get itachis, amaterasu control and you get sasukes/indra, and so on.

also before anyone says it im considering indras ms design cannon, everyones saying the episode was kishi approved and the spiral was just an idea he had before he worked everything out

the fact that the manga showed Indra with a swirling MS and Ashura with the chakra avatar and in here it was not.

Indra had Sasuke's MS and Ashura RSM for some reason was absolute BS.

I could get by the whole shabang with Hago dying old and them being older but in the manga when they fought full out was when they were young.

when Indra had his PS, he has his original MS not Sasuke's.

So noooooowp. just nope.

this episode just killed the filler arc completely for me. and I gave them benefit of the doubt. but they made it feel like a complete recycle of characters and it wasnt even consistent to the manga.

Mangekyou Sharingan powers are genetic, so they aren't just recycled and passed around spiritually, and Kishimoto would never allow two people to have the same set of techniques unless they were twins. Also, Limbo is not a Mangekyou Sharingan ability.

i can see why you dont take it as canon, but as far as im concerned kishi had oversight to this arc and new what was going to happen. i view it less as the anime changing everything and more as kishi using the anime medium to change and update his story to what he originally wants it to be. i understand the other side but thats my view on it

itachi and sasuke both had Amaterasu but i was thinking their design was linked to their unique ability, itachis tsukiyomi, and sasukes Amaterasu control
can you show me two MS users with the exact same MS abilities and different patterns or any scan that says the designs are unique?
i need some proof to discredit my theory before i ditch it

the genetic/emotion determining the power makes sense but id like to see some proof that the designs dont correlate with the powers. i guess ill have to wait and hopefully the future will shed some more light. maybe a quick one off will show indras ability or the buroto manga will come up with some new ms users rather than just continue to rehash the movie.
also i get why canon vs filler is being brought up but its one thing to say they dont believe the theory becuase they dont consider this arc filler, its another to just incoherently ***** about how its all just filler trash.

im saying i believe taking what he previously did in mind kishi allowed the original manga facts to be changed to make his own story more intresting, if you ask me kishi approving new changes makes them new facts and overwrites the old ones. if kishis okay with his story being changed then the new changes are considered new facts. i dont think the new arc was about translating the manga into the anime i think it was about using the anime to change the manga into something new for the narutoverse that kishi thinks is better/more interesting
that being said all of this is opinion, im not kishi or a writer for naruto and im just interpreting new information how i think it works best.
