Well, her conversation with Bolt IS effort, whether it had an impact or not. She does try to reach through to him and get him to understand Naruto's responsibilities.

It's very unlikely that Bolt was the one who told him to make Shadow Clones, considering his shock and anger at him using one for Hima's birthday. Its more likely Hinata was the one, considering her reaction and dialogue with Bolt after the clone disappeared, she seemed to be aware it wasn't the real Naruto.

How is he spending just as much time when the movie ends on a hopeful note on Naruto having breaskfast with his family after God knows how long?

I don't think it was ever implied he didn't have breakfast with them everyday before heading out to work. But even if so, I think the manga was attempting to show that Bolt simply learned to accept Naruto's role as opposed to Naruto actually making time. Idk, we'll just have to wait and see.

No, the movie clearly shows that he was almost never home. That was the whole point of Bolt being happy that his father was finally home after such a long time. If it was a normal occurance, then there was no need to show something as mudane and pointless as breakfast.

Agree, Hinata definitely should have been more assertive with Bolt in order to get through to him. Really annoys me how her character was about coming out of her shell and becoming more assertive as a person yet she's had little change in said cases outside of a few glimpses here and there.

In any case, since the whole thing happened off screen in either case, it's still very likely he left Himawari in a safe location, not only because everyone was evacuating, but because the people who were even causing the danger were gone, meaning no threats to Himawari. And it would be ridiculous to imagine her taking Himawari with her into the heat of battle.
