She can survive cuts but slugs are generally weak to fire, that's why I believe she can't survive a powerful fire jutsu. With that being said, Katsuyu is a very useful summoning indeed, not sure if she's the most useful one though.
Mmm, I don't think that to be honest
She took Naruto's corrosive chakra which acted like a poison + burning, up to 8 ongoing 9 tails, while in Chibaku Tensei, so I don't think fire jutsus would have the slightest effect on her.
Well, if we look at it again, she was inside Naruto's clothes, and his clothes didn't show any sign of burns, nor did his skin. You must be registered for see links
If you have another panel of her surviving actual fire then I'll believe you. But as of now, my point stands, since Kishimoto usually applies real life biology in his manga.
He kinda doesn't apply real life biology all the time.
His clothes were unharmed back in the 4 tails transformation where he showed his skin being ripped to shreds (something like that).
And back then, that chakra acted like a burning factor.
I am going to try finding the panels.
Also Sakura comments something of the feeling of that chakra as Naruto turns in tailed form.

So as we can see, it burns and acts as a poison.
But the clothes are ok.
And this was the 4th tail, imagine that up to the 9th was even more damageable.![]()
I already know that when he transformed to 4-tails his skin was completely messed up, but that didn't happen when he transformed to 6-tails, even when he went back to human form, his skin was completely fine, so it's natural to think that there was some kind of protection surrounding his body to protect him from the burning chakra shroud. And his clothes being unburned makes it a twist for the reader. Don't you think that something that can burn a giant snake can't burn through a tiny slug is utter nonsense? Despite snakes having a much more durable skin than slugs? Kishimoto sure puts some illogical things in his manga if you ask me.
Well this is where the thing is. Kishi inspired the Slug>Snake thing from the folklore although in real life is Snake>Slug.
So in the manga he potrayed Katsuyu as the most resistant animal summon.
Something similar to how Tsunade is in Byakugou mode.
Madara's fire technique did nothing to her.
I'm still unsure about this slugs>snakes thing in Naruto. As far as I know the only slug summon shown so far is Katsuyu, and putting her against the strongest snake summon; Manda II is a crime, but let's not get into this.
Byakugou heals any damage dealt to the user as long as they have enough chakra, so it's understandable. But a tiny Katsuyu surviving Naruto's burning chakra shroud is something beyond me, honestly. I may look further into it later.
BTW, Cerberus was shown to be quite durable, so they can share the same tittle as the most durable summons.![]()
Hmm, the Cerberus... have to see him again, can't remember well.
It was the multi-headed one?
Yup, Nagato's dog, that's its name. Nagato literally stated that it can't be killed without defeating the user, so that's something.
Yeah, indeed it is.
The thing with it is that it can't be defeated by physical attacks probably. I wonder what happens for example with attacks that would cover its entire body, something like a big big fire or Jinton...
