Most tragic character

I can't think of a character with as tragic of a story as Itachi. Not even Odysseus compares.. Can anyone think of a character from som other story with a more tragic background than Itachi? just for the hell of it

Well it wasn't really his fault. How would you feel if you were deceived into thinking your brother killed his entire family and it wasn't Itachi who plotted it. Finally you found your families killers and on top of that you killed your own brother for nothing, wouldn't you want to avenge them? Sasuke background was full of deceit

I'll concede that sasuke was decieved, it just annoys me that he decided to do the exact opposite of what Itachi hoped for him.

Naruto and Sasuke's pain is nothing compared to Itachi and Nagato's.
Sasuke saw his parents dead, but Itachi was the one who killed them and Nagato watched his parents die right in front of him. Itachi had to kill his best friend. And Nagato was forced to kill his. Both Nagato and Itachi suffered both mental and physical pain all the way to their deaths. So Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara had it easy compared to these two.

Don't you remember when Naruto and Sasuke fought at the valley? Having loved ones taken away from you is worse than not knowing what love is. Naruto had only 2 pains in his life and that was being hated by everyone and loosing Jiraiya. Thats nothing compared to seeing your loved ones dead,or killing them because your forced, or watching them killed in front of you. At least Naruto didn't have to see what happened to his parents or Jiraiya.
Its worse to lose someone you loved than to not know that person.
