I'd say Itachi. A lot of other characters went through hell, but he seems to have handled the emotional stress better than most.

Kakashi is a candidate, sure, but while his childhood was definitely traumatizing, I don't feel that it compares to Itachi's. He was pretty much forced to slaughter his entire clan and then went on to join the Akatsuki, isolating himself while being surrounded by criminals, and still never lost sight of his true goals.
That Schoolboy Q, right?

OT: I actually have to go with what 6 Paths said.

I agree. I chose not to add him to the list. He lost his brother and his dad. But kept going. But I felt that his hardness comes from the pain. Hashirama was more resilient

Itachi had to kill his family and he remained sane. That puts him above anyone else up there.

Sakura, emotionless for her own parents while being very upset about her not so boy friend. May be she endured alot more than sasuke' massacre, naruto hatred, kakashi past...

In a way this is true. She endured a lot.Naruto at least fought back but she took it lying down and endured it so yeah

Sasuke. It's just no contest. An 8 year old kid walking through a scene of human shambles and sees his brother standing over the corpses of his slain parents ... how did that kid even manage to go to school daily? Those are godly nerves of steel. Not to mention he remained head-fast in whichever path he chose. That's resilience. What you have defined is acceptance, not resilience. When you tread along with the flow, it has little to do with being resilient as you face no odds.

I have no clue what kind of odds Kakashi faced.

a lot of their resilience is dependant on other people. naruto had iruka, jaraiya, hinata, his parents all snapping him out of slumps. obito didnt bc of his enviroment being surrounded by zetsus and mads.

itachi didnt go nuts so ill go with him xD

Itachi, Kakashi, and Kid Naruto (The one who went 13 years of being tortured through name calling, and/or possibly physical abuse)

I think there's no contest here. All of them are resilient more than an ordinary person would be since most of them suffered an emotional trauma more than once. It all comes down to personal preference in character.

Lord Sasuke.Having love snatched away in front of your eyes and having you watch the brutal murder of your clan demands a lot of nerve and remain sane

For those that voted sasuke, how would you explain his constant lust for vengeance and the whole braking bad phase? Seems not so resilient. Itachi had to live with the guilt and trauma and still managed to stay focused. He was only 13.

Itachi had no one. At least sasuke has naruto chasing after him

Define resilience, as what you said has nothing to do with it.

I have defined it. Very First post.

I do agree that sasuke is resilient. What I'm asking is what makes him more resilient than Itachi? Itachi had to live with the consequences of his actions while still grieving for his family like sasuke
