Blood-choked, air-choked, all's well it ends well.
It's hardly the same thing...
Blood choking is cutting off blood from the brain, and that's when your eyes just kind of go black and you drift off. One of my idiot friends (who's amounted to nothing) used to do it in class in High School sometimes to freak out the teacher.
Air Choking (suffocation) is in no way peaceful. You thrash, you go into convulsions, and then you black out. Some sort of injury due to shock can occur as well. I'm trained to deal with this one (albeit I was trained on drowing). I've seen video representations of drowing, they're kind of unnerving.
