Lol indeed it's confusing, but personally I believe that he killed those people, esp if you read the book version. I just think that he was rich enough for their to be a cover up for him, sense he lived in a shallow world of the late 80's (though we still do live in a quiet a shallow world ).

Ps: Fight club is good to, very nice twist to it at the end xd
