Most important Akatsuki member?

Who was the most important Akatsuki member? As in, a member who kept their organization intact and stayed true to realizing their goal, capturing all tailed beasts. Here are some options to help you guys make your decision:

Pain- Acted as the leader and made sure everyone were doing their job in capturing the tailed beasts.
Hidan- Added some humor to their organization so it wouldn't be all seriousness.
Deidara- Also added humor to their organization and prevented it from being too serious.
Zetsu- Kept Tobi's identity and leadership a secret to prevent suspicion among the other members.
Itachi- Prevented Pain from attacking Konoha while he was alive. If Pain were to attack Konoha while Itachi was alive, Itachi would've defended Konoha and caused a civil war within Akatsuki.
Tobi- Made sure Pain were leading the organization correctly.

Zetsu is there army, and he did a lot of spy like things and kept there stuff secret.

If they did not have Zetsu that would of not been able to find the Jun's as fast and would of been found.

Tobi. He claimed he helped Yahiko found Akatsuki in the first place, he makes sure Nagato is doing his job. He is also the only one still alive to keep Akatsuki running to this day. (in the Naruto world)

Well, right now both of them are dead. Tobi is the only one left (well, maybe Zetsu is still alive, I'm not sure) that is still keeping Akatsuki running today. Also, both Konan and Nagato betrayed Akatsuki in the end.

No, Akatsuki are mercenaries who work for villages and get money that way. Pain said so. Plus Kakuzu is too greedy, he wouldn't give up so much money to support Akatsuki.

OT: I think Pain was the most important due to him being the figure head, the most powerful, and being a unifier for all other members and kept them on track with their jobs.
