HSOTD isn't really that bad all the time with the fan service.. I mean there are parts where it is completely unnecessary but the overall story is pretty cool for what it is I wouldn't say it is top tier. But for a seinen/echhi manga it is one of my favorites. The people in the series are just insane and you never really know who is gonna die next..
