Hey is anyone on here is a Mormon, could you answer these questions for me? My sister is getting married to a Mormon and converting to Mormonism and I'm cool with that, for now....

1: Do you really inherit a planet when you die?
2: Do you believe that John/Jacob guy found a book, transcribed it, lost it, couldnt remember what it said, and then started Mormonism, or is that not the story.
3: Why do you do missions for two years without technology
4: why does mass take 4 hours
5: Why can you have 40 wives
6: Why is the Mormon Bible so funny

I'm not Mormon, but I've lived around a lot of them, so I'll give your questions a shot.
1. More or less, yes. That's an interpretation of their vision of heaven.
2. I think you mean Joseph Smith, and yes. Basically, he didn't have the original transcription, so he copied what he could from memory.
3. They do missions for philanthropy and to spread the word of their religion. The lack of technology is a means of cloistering themselves so they can focus on their duty.
4. Their mass doesn't necessarily take four hours. However, for devout Mormons, church is a highly communal function and makes up a lot of their social lives.
5. That's a tenant no longer held by the LDS church. However, it is held by the minor cult sect known as the FLDS.
6. Because you aren't a Mormon.
