So in the last chapter it was stated that Sarada would go speak to her mom about byakugo. I think that is interesting because she may already be using byakugo when she activates her sharingan. Since she is not aware of this therefore she cannot train it and the full ability is not awakened. Once it is awakened her sharingan transform to resemble the IT (white w/3 tomoe). This is because byakugo mimics the chakra tree in the way it passively absorbs chakra. You take that ability and mix it with a sharingan and yin (moon) energy and it evolves. This puts her on par with Boruto and his karma because before she even gets to MS level she has already upgraded her sharingan. Its also good because it gives her an ability that would eventually scale her into the Otsutsuki power levels. After her eyes evolve the Shin start to approach her and confessing their loyalty to her because of her mutated eyes. This is when she begins on her road to Hokage and how to be a leader. Naruto becomes more interested in her once he sees her potential as the village leader one day so he gives her the 2 tails. This is just before Naruto disappears and the village gets destroyed. Naruto's disappearance and the destruction of the village activates her MS which replaces her byakugo seal giving her a third eye like Hagoromo.

What I meant is that it may be one of her sharingan abilities. Like when she activates her sharingan she passively absorbs chakra but it takes years to absorb enough to form the seal.
