I'm not talking about the outer layer at all, Do you know how big the moon's diameter is? It's 2,159 miles, you think the entire otsutsuki clan can fit in there? They must've been one big ass clan then.

Exactly, the living area of Toneri's clan was probably somewhere near the crust(based on when Toneri used his wind tech to break to the surface)...it was visibly curved and a human eye shouldn't be able to see that if it was the entire moon hollowed out.

I don't know how many of them were there, the otsutsuki were a different species from humans and besides hogoromo's family a few others and kaguya almost all of them head to the moon. Given their origin, it isn't a stretch to say they could exist in a hollowed moon.

Also bringing the diameter of the moon is pointless because unless you know what the thickness of the crust is in the naruto moon it is impossible to say the volume of space available for the otsutsuki clan to use. If the crust is supper thick then the volume of the hollowed potion reduces and vice versa

No the moon isnt hollow. The clan either lived near the crust or in the center.

Kurama did end up on the surface of the moon when fighting Hamura statue. From there (the bottom) he blasted that statue through the entire moon to the top were Toneri and Naruto were at.

This true as well, They are literally located right below the crust.

Even so, The otsutsuki clan seemed to live near the crust. Seeing as how toneri used that hurricane jutsu to blow a hole through the outer layer(Wasn't that deep either). If you wanna bring logic into this, Anything that lived in the core of the moon would be crushed by its immense gravity.

^ They only settled on the surface of the Moon, which means that it was only hollow there.
