Say Garp had accepted the Admiral Position (& any others) way back in that flashback.

Would he be the current Fleet Admiral in lieu of Sakazuki?

I think so. I also think that he can and could defeat any other marine past and present. I am not saying it would be easy, but he will definitely be able to.

I think so. Unless he had resigned with Sengoku. In all honesty if Garp had that want to climb up the ranks I think he would have been Fleet Admiral instead of Sengoku and Borsalino wouldn't be an Admiral.

Agreed. Garp has shown to be the biggest sleeper in the marines. IF he decided to get really involved with the war of the best, the outcome would have been much different.
I think that BB would have been arrested on the spot, all the prisoners from impel down would have been arrested too, 90% of the pirates that got away would have also died. Only guarentee was that luffy would still escape. If sengoku wasnt there to stop garp, Sakasuki would have been injured much worse then he was.

Garp was the biggest sleep in the marines, especially during the war of the best arc.

I don't think so, that is, if MF would have gone down the same way. Garp almost abandoned duty because Ace was his grandson and I don't think the Gorosei or Sengoku would have advocated that mindset with the threat of Luffy becoming a big-timer in the NW.


Not saying Garp wasn't strong enough, of course. He was plenty strong.

Although I still bet Teach would have gotten away, Garp and Sengoku had to be going close to all out to stop him from destroying Marineford, if Sengoku and Garp had gone out also Marineford's demise would have been much quicker.

Well the reason i say that is becuase, with garp being active the other admiral would have had an easier time.
BB came when WB was at his wits end. IF Garp was actively fighting WB along with Sakasuki, then By the time BB came to collect his powers WB would have already died. Then it would have been Garp and Sengoku vs BB and the BB pirates. I dont think that BB and the BB pirate could have actually beaten Garp by himself, much less Garp and Sengoku at the same time.

I Garp had been active right from the start it would have been Newgate vs Garp. Newgate coming on top imo and maybe the island completely wiped off the map.

I think Teach could have beaten them, barely though. Especially if like you said Newgate vs Garp had been happening. No matter how you look at it if Garp had gone all out against an opponent like Newgate or Teach during the war there would be no Marinefird today. The guy was obliterating 8 mountains as if they were sandbags in his prime.

If it wasn't for Sengoku Akainu would be dead right now. The only thing that would have kept him alive is Oda's lack of killing off characters.

Injured? Sakasuki would be in the grave. After catching a ass whooping from WB Garp would have broken and neutered the red dog. He would have turned him from Red Dog to bloody b!@#%
