What makes gold so special , more valuable and useful than oil , electricity , water, food (thing that we actually need and that have some real usage) ?

It doesn't corrode like iron (cannot be destroyed) or has a longer shelf life, it's attractive, and cannot be counterfeited.
I know that but that didn't answer my question, what usage gold has to make it that valuable.
just wanted to write a comment about that - they whine in the world how people are poor and stuff, so why not just print the money and just give it to the people so they can actually start something with their lifes ?Money can be printed, those needs and resources are limited.
