It was revealed that Monaka is a fake. What does this mean? Why did beerus lie? What are his reasons behind this?

Monaka is actually so weak that he passed out right after seeing Goku's kamehame ha against Botamo.

Options:

-Beerus didn't find or couldn't convince the real monaka to come and fight and hired an impostor

-Beerus didn't want to admit that Goku was the strongest he has faced

The fact that Beerus wants him to fight last would imply that he can actually fight, somehow. I'm guessing he's just got some tricky abilities that let Beerus cheat, i refuse to believe that only Champa is cheating here.

Example, no physical abilities, but can turn people invisible and make afterimages. Leave a copy of beerus at the start, and have an invisible Beerus curbstomp the enemy.

Personally, i think beerus :

1- Was confident on Vegeta and Goku clearing the gauntlet, so he didn't bother getting someone strong, and just hyped monaka because he didn't want to admit goku is the strongest he has faced

2- Beerus is hyping him for an aspull reason-> new plot coming

Maybe he's confident that Monaka's cheating will be guaranteed to win the match, but he doesn't want to have to rely on him? If Goku and Vegeta won the fights fairly, then he wouldn't risk being called out for cheating, and if they lost, then he still has Monaka. He did refer to Monaka as the trump card, remember?

Actually this is false. Beerus put him last because he knew he wouldn't even come to the point where he'd have to battle since Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo would win before it happens.

after watching episode 35 i came to the same conclusion. i think beerus is using him to make champa think monaka is the strongest in universe 7 when actually goku is his trump card . beerus probly just wanted to make goku think he wasnt that strong

I really hope there's another reason behind it (my favourite one would be that the strongest he has faced couldn't be found. Because he was killed by hit)

Yeah after seeing episode 35 I dont believe that the Monaka at the contestant bench, packs a lot of strength either.
Either because its not the real Monaka, or because the stories regarding Monaka are not true or not true anymore.

He is at ssj1 Goku lvl at best, which isnt even close to what is needed to defeat Hit.
