On the topic of Momonosuke , of course as we know wano people have japanese names (normally in OP they arent wrote in kanji) momo's name is wrote in kanji tho, like Kin'emon. Kanji have the added bonus of having meanings. (like luffy doesnt have a meaning in japanese) but momonosuke does have a meaning. Momo is peach. Now if u know ur japanese culture, u should know about the story of peach boy. (i need to look it up again for more info, when momonosuke appears in the story)

But the basic jist is, boy is found in a peach by people that cant have kids and he becomes a hero. But the interesting thing is his name, its Momotarō, now while peach is momotaro. So what can we get from momonosuke second part of their name... Suke (no is just a topic marker in japanese) the kanji for suke has a meaning too, it means save, rescue, survive, help assist and many more help like words.

So his name literally means peach hero. This further implies he is based off of Momotaro. Plus his head looks like a peach. And when Kine'mon gave him clothing they were pink with peach symbols on it.

Why this is important is because in the story of Momotaro the peach boy has a lot of talking animals (Zoans?) that become his friends when he shares his cakes with them. This could be transferred over to the story of One piece as him being involved in the spiritual aspect of DFs. As we know the DF has a "devil" that goes into your body and that gives the fruit its power. And while DD can make artificially fruits only 10% work. Momonosuke might be able to do what Momotaru did and calm down the fighting animals and that way when the Df gets its "devil" the "devil" is more likely to say in his fruit.

Plus I came up with this theory simply because it looked like momo was being hunted before he had his DF so I dont believe thats why he is wanted. Also it seems he does have a "power" outside of his DF because Imo two fully trained samurai wouldn't take a child with them on a mission unless they had too I.E. Momo is the mission. To deliver Momo over to someone at Zou because of his animal quelling ability and they told momo kinemon was his dad but they were saying that so momo would go with them.

Interesting. I do know about Momotaru and japanese folklore but it never crossed my mind. There are indeed many similarities.

Especially the theme and the clothes. Nice observation ! :win:

Maybe it has something to do with his father folklore tale of the transforming Raccoon-dog (Tanuki)

The fox-like Tanuki appear often in Japanese folklore as shape-shifters with supernatural powers and mischievous tendencies. In their earliest malevolent manifestations (transmitted via Chinese fox lore to Japan by at least the 7th century CE), Tanuki assumed human form, haunted and possessed people, and were considered omens of misfortune. Many centuries later in Japan, they evolved into irrepressible tricksters, aiming their illusory magic and mystifying belly-drum music at unwary travelers, hunters, woodsmen, and monks.
This is pretty big in Japan, another reference is when you play Super Mario you had those blocks with leaves in them. If you put the leaf on your head you could transform into the tanuki. Just like Kin'emon asked the SH's to put a leaf on their heads to transform their clothes.

The legendary tanuki has been foretold to be a mischievous animal that is full of joy, but it’s also thought to be capable of being a master of disguise with legendary shape-shifting abilities. One folktale called Bunbuku Chagama speaks of a tanuki who was helped from a trap and transforms himself into a teapot, which he then prompted the man to sell for money as thanks for his help. But when the new owner decided to make tea with his newly purchased kettle he was startled when a half transformed tanuki/teapot came jumping from the fire, as the tanuki couldn’t stand the heat – even in his transformed state. Another story finds a tanuki using leaves to cheat merchants, and many others claim that the only way a tanuki can transform is if he places leaves on his head and chants. Some even claim that these leaves come from the sacred lotus plant of Buddhism
Today tanukis can still be seen in Japan in the form of comical statues in all sorts of locations: temples, parks, restaurants and noodle shops. These humorous statues have various depictions, but they usually all have a few main elements in common: a sizeable tail for strength and steadiness; a large hat to ward off bad weather; big eyes to better see their surroundings; a sake bottle for virtue; a promissory note for trust; a big belly to display bold determination and a friendly smile. These statues are placed to let all those who enter know that they should do so with a cheerful spirit, ready to dine and drink abundantly, and to spend their money generously in the process.

It’s safe to say that the tanuki legends of the past have manifested into an everyday part of the Japanese people’s lives, and when the tanuki represents so many good things in life, why shouldn’t it?

Maybe all the samurai have some kind of folklore tale hinting to their power. They don't know what devil fruits are either, and call it magic. They live according to strict rules on wano without much contact with the outside world.

Are you saying Momonosuke can communicate with the devils inside the fruit? If so that sounds stupid to me personally.
If you mean he can communicate with animals in general...eh~, I could see it happening just because it's strange enough for One Piece but idk. To me his main power will be his Zoan...it's a dragon, dragons are pretty strong.

The theory was just wild and aggressive animals.
in the orginal Myth Momotaro Tamed a wild dog the size of a horse by feeding it. Then it got in a fight with a monkey but he fed the monkey so the two stopped fighting. Then the dog fought a bird which was tamed with food again.

Each time only half a cake given, even further he gave them the other half of their cakes and they all became best friends.

I wouldn't put it passed him to be able to use this said power to put more than one animal inside each DF cause by the end of the myth he was able to make all the animals get along.
